Summary

Versatile Maintenance Manager trained in areas of leadership, machine repair and electrical. Thriving in dynamics, I love a challenge in fast-paced professional environments. Being assertive and an enthusiastic person with extensive knowledge of doing the job and getting it done right the first time with an unsurpassed work ethic

Highlights

Being involved with strategic planning and Maintenance for over 25 years, I along with my staff have earned several safety and chairman awards for cost reduction and machine downtime. Being strong in electrical, mechanical and hydraulic troubleshooting has also given me the ability to teach and build a more balanced staff.

Dedication

Being dedicated and respectful to my supports and team has given me their respect and the willingness to go above and beyond most expectations that you wouldn’t find in most plants today. As a manager you have to be flexible but understand the goal and meet production’s needs. Client and employee relationships are very important to me; I have always found that having a team mentality is what gets things done.

Accomplishments

Having a reduction in machine downtime from 22% a week to just under 1% in just a little over 6 months and increasing productivity 36% is the latest accomplishment. By standardizing work procedures and creating obtainable goals in the work place, we had boosted customer satisfaction not only with external but internal customers as well. The feeling has not only been life changing for myself but a turning point for the company. Knowing that we did it safely and even more, we had done it as a team, yes I must give credit where its due, I couldn’t do these thing without having a great team and having them believe in what I am doing, which has always been my goal.

Working and developing troubleshooting skills while using and understanding diagrams and schematics. I have built a motors and controls board for troubleshooting to simulate real life hands on skills and demonstration. Working with Managers and supervisors providing training in PM programs and reduction in downtime and open order issues. I have developed an issues, resolutions program for repetitive problems and parts. Holding weekly and monthly meetings for progress and downtime reporting for gauging success in each business unit.

Maintenance Manager December 2008 to May 2015 Aftech – Rockford, MI

Aftech is a 46 nonunion employee company. They are a Tier 2 supplier for 3M and other adhesive companies. The machinery consisted of Komastu, Pace, and several different slitters and roll forming equipment.

There were 12 technicians total, including 2 die repair. Upon my hire, there was not any PM program or service record for any of the equipment. I created a PM program and machine history along with recordable downtime and time studies to verify efficiency. I also introduced a part sourcing and ordering data list along with a budget for parts and new equipment.

I was very influential in starting a safety program and team, for continuous improvement; with the help of our team, we obtained a goal of 600 days with no recordable injuries.

Worked with purchasing and vendors to create a cost savings program for parts and supplies and created a working capital and financial plan.
