Richardson Electronics, Dec, 2015 – Present
Transition Engineer
Successful relaunch of a $2M product line (brought from France to Illinois). Complete and sole responsibility for complete set of documentation per company and American standards for:
• Work instructions
• All CAD (3D models and 2D release drawings)
Additionally, sole implementation of:
• Bills of material (BOMs) and routers
• All processes (plating, furnace induction, test).
• Training
• Validation
Furthermore, implemented SPC (Statistical Process Control) for product line with a projected increase in yield from 90 to 95 %. Note, company had no SPC in place before this implementation.
Bridge 12 Tech, Feb, 2015 – Oct, 2015
Computational Scientist
FEM computational models covering multiple physics:
• Electron beam formation
• Beam transport
• Beam and energy recover
• Magnetostatics
• Mode conversion
Thales Components, June, 2009-Oct, 2014
Customer Technical Support Manager:
Managed support (integration, technical and returns) for $20M of US sales for international producer of communications electronics. Customers acknowledged preference for, and maintaining of, the relationship with the company as a direct result of my support. Built state of the art facility for test and evaluation of latest technology for a tenth of what had originally been budgeted.
Responsible for returned Telecomm hardware, evaluation and repair; interfacing between customers and factory; automation, building and programming test sets/power supplies; RF equipment acquisition and calibration; documentation and training for local procedures and materials; test set and RF test equipment interfacing and control through Arduinos and PC hardware (C and LabView).
Sales Support
Integration support, trade shows, site visits and proposal writing. Performance Microwave, Sept, 2002-June, 2009
Consultant:
Consulted to 4 companies in the areas of tube design, automated RF testing (varied, using LabView, C/C++ and SQL), state-of-the-art devices, micro-fabrication techniques, and automated design optimization.
Triton ETD, June, 1996-May, 2002, Easton, PA
Engineering Manager:
Led cross-functional team for $8M product line for the military market. Led same team in all design and development, both for customer funded/directed development and internal research. Duties included all aspects of product line management, design analysis, engineer supervision, customer interfacing, proposal writing and program management. Implemented SPC where there had been none.
End user applications included communications; phased array, CW and pulsed radar; Electronic Warfare (EW) and EW counter-measures – many of them for airborne applications. Litton EDD May, 1993-June, 1996, San Carlos, CA
