Quotes about me:

From my supervisor at Guidant (now Boston Scientific) at my annual review: I talked to everyone you interface with at meetings where you represent our group and everyone thought (because of your professionalism) you were an Engineer not a Tech.

From my director at Smith Medical to my VP: Let me introduce you to Dennis, since you have the hottest project in the company right now, you want Dennis to be your tech in charge, he’s smart, resourceful and gets things done.

Same VP a few weeks later: Dennis what happens if that seal leaks, I keep on getting the run around when I ask Engineering.

(15 minutes later he watched as I duplicated his problem and he had video for his 1 PM meeting of what REALLY happens.)

From a Lead Salesmen at Once Innovation: Dennis what is your job description? Is it “guy who fixes things others screw up? We have needed a guy like you for YEARS!”

Employment History:

2017/05 – 2017/04 Elucent Medical: Chief Tech doing RF ID data acquisition, documentation, development and general lab work. I found out despite a six month contract they wanted a tech for 30 days to get ready for a show.

2016/12 – 2016/06: United Technology Corp: I work in Test Engineering creating & documenting Test Systems from a BOM including building and wiring all aspects. In charge of ordering parts, cutting & assembling metal for the frame, wiring the system including: relay matrix, GPIB cables, Robotic stepper motor positioning system, test equipment, design & manufacture of the test head, trouble shooting and calibration. Basically, given the parameters I designed, built and documented the test system. Local Engineering Group was moved out of the Twin City.

2016/05 – 2015/11: Once Innovations: Once manufactured commercial LED lighting. I was the technician in charge of the lab in a small 15-person company. Tasked to do an abundant number of things not found in larger companies: all aspects of many disciples of engineering including equipment and general lab management. We moved the lab; I planned the move and configuration. Since I have a degree in management/marketing I was the technical liaison between Marketing/Sales and Engineering. I saved the company $120k by developing and implemented return product triage and decontamination systems bringing product from the dock through testing to back-to-stock and creating Engineering MRB data. I did extensive evaluation testing and creating engineering processes. I managed and did hands-on of reconfiguring items for sale. I also worked daily with the order processing and shipping department. Once was not an ISO organization, thus I was writing processes, creating test fixtures, testing and introducing Once Innovations organization to ISO standards and concepts.

2015/11 – 2015/05: St Jude Medical: I was an engineering tech working with the three-dimensional magnetic catheter robotic positioning system. I worked all aspects of the program: fixture creation, hardware/software design and testing, troubleshooting, documentation and process writing and implementation. I also did some work on the patch adhesion resistance/capacitance pull testing. I was a Senior Engineering Tech supporting all: testing, documentation development, photography, test method creation, fixture and process creation and support for a stepper motor Velmex BI-Slide screw robot system driving CMS and a magnetic location Catheter system using the magnetics of a Northern Digital Inc box.

2015/05 - 2012/09: Smiths Medical Senior AME Technician supporting all mechanical, electrical and software technology. Daily I worked with: O-scopes, DVMs, ZEISS CMM machines, 3-D Printers, Robotics, Microscope and electrical measurement devices and computers, doing: FAI First Article Inspections, DVTs Device Verification Testing, ETPs Engineering Test Protocols, Updating BOM Build of Materials, using: ADP, Oracle, Globalview, Calypso, Solid Works, Labview, Mini-tab and specialized Hardware & Software.
