Over all Plant Operational and Production for the following sections 4HI- Cold Rolling Mill (Rolling up to 0.04mm, same as slitting and Heat Treatment for ultra-thinner Gauge Steel Medium & high carbon steel, Continuous Bright Annealing Furnace, Continuous Hardening &Tempering Furnaces (Martensite, Bainite & Bearing Steel), Slitting, Polishing, Induction Hardening and shaving lines. And also responsible for procuring Raw material and controlling processing parameters with all associate inputs with right quality finished goods & timely delivered the products as Doctor steel, Tempered Steel, Printer Rulers & Shaving rules to the customers as per Marketing orders.

Responsible for CRM Division of plant operations including project management, production, quality control, maintenance, procurement, H.R, Logistics, EHS and budget planning & execution.

Project:-Selection of the project strategy based on pre-determined business risk, viable and achievable forecasting backed with market plan & statistics. Capital budgeting. Keeping track on the quality material and timely supply of the particulars from the contractors/vendors. To ensure commissioning, qualification and validation of the building, engineering, process and analytical facility as per the requirement of safety and statutory norms. Prepare capital requirement schedule and obtain approval of project proposal and execute plan flawlessly.

H.R:-Integration of skill from the human resources available and recruiting the talents to establish a high performance team in phases. Periodic evaluation, motivating the team and reporting to the management. Develop and direct staff by active coaching and training while cultivating collaborative team culture. Production, Maintenance & Costing:-Responsible for the entire production facility including daily operations, maintenance and repairs, schedule planning and execution, document management, utility system operations, creative problem-solving and result-driven operations, managing the workmen for achieving the periodic production targets warehouse operations, and so on. Fix and monitoring KRA & KPI w.t.r persons and departments.

Quality:-Preparing Standard Operating Procedures, manuals & work instructions for production operations for the unit and maintaining MIS/ reports for facilitating decision making.

Principal Accountabilities & Job Profile

Responsible for Slitting, CTL and Polishing sections day to day performance activities in this regard to meet customer requirements through internal customers like Marketing & Achieving the targets set at Business Plan, Meeting Annual operating Plans & performance of the company & Meeting the targets. Organizing Weekly meeting with Marketing, Production, PPC, Logistics & Quality Departments to ensure the Adherence of Schedules. JOB POST: - Head of Operations

JOB PROFILE & RESPONSIBILITIES:

From July’05 joined as Senior Manager and looking after Head of Production & Maintenance activities for 4Hi Mill, H.R Slitters, Push-Pull Pickling, Acid Regeneration Plants (ARP) & ETP.

Responsible for all Statics and rotary machine equipment’s in healthy conditions like as Mill, M.S Rubberized and FRP Tanks, Acid & Rinse Pumps, Acid Cyclone Reactors, Fluidized bed, Heat Exchangers, Hot air dryer blowers, Coiler and slitter heads, scrubber towers etc.,

Closely coordinate with project team for all activities for below lines and successfully erected and commissioned 3rd H.R Slitting & 3rd Push-Pull Pickling line & 3rd ARP& 2nd ETP with incinerator.

Maintaining & coordinate with all department documents for ISO, TS: 16949, TPM & OSHAS in CRM Division.

Daily tracking material status in production module system. To check WIP & prepare Hold/ reject / rework status,

coordinate with PPC Dept. Monitoring Monthly Schedule Shutdown & Preventive Maintenance.

Control the consumptions of consumables & Spares; it should remain within budget targeted limits. Coordinate with ERP team To implement the software system module as per requirement for manufacturing the process. Coordinate with store And IT departments to implement consumable & Spares stock in different categories and levels, Its use full for material indent/procurement. Forecast Capital Items and same as incorporated in yearly Budget.

. Prepare Monthly, Quarterly, Half yearly & Yearly budgeted vs. Actual and same as delivered in presence of higher

Authorities. Prepare Budget plant for coming year and same as approved by superiors.

Manpower management & proper capacity utilization for production lines.

.Preparing and monitoring of annual budgeted proposals for equipment and / or replacement.

Boiler House responsibility, Yearly statutory compliance carried out from Boiler inspector,

(J.N Marshal 2 Boilers each capacity 4.5 Tons & another TWO boilers THERMAX & NESTLER each capacity 8 Tons).

Improve the yield the above lines. Rust preventive care/action taken in all Acid zone areas equipments.

. Co ordinate with MPCB Govt bodies for Acid treatment & E.T.P sections.

Chemical Zone: Handling Hydrochloric Acid Unit and its usage and from waste to regenerate the HCL

JOB POST: - Manager – Head of Production Dept.,

It’s a Joint venture of the Comcraft International group & Essar Steel: Working from project stage, Hitachi Mill with Japanese team and continues PUSH-PULLPICKLING LINE supplied by M/s Esmech rolling Pvt. Ltd., MUMBAI. This is first of its kind in India, Technical collaboration by PRO-ECO & NELSON STEEL, CANADA. At SGL I had an opportunity to work along with Japanese and Canadian team and could get their appreciation by successfully Granites Laying in Acid and Rinse tanks with Rubber Seal component, and also successfully erection and commissioned H.R Slitting & E.T.P sections. (All are Green Field Projects). Hands on Experience to operated E.O.T Cranes like Project machineries are kept in place for Erection and commissioning.

JOB PROFILE & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Green field Project: Coordinate between indigenous machine suppliers and contractors for different schemes such as FRP Tanks, Pipe Lines Hot & Cold water, Hydraulic lines Layouts, systems and machine equipment’s etc. which are inter connecting with the pickling line for Erection. And same as for H.R Slitter and E.T.P. Inspect the equipments at manufacturing vendor and same as approved or modified any changes as required at there or at site.

Operations & Maintenance: After Erection & Commissioning, stabilizing the above lines worked as training Head for imparting “Hands-on-Operational & Mechanical Maintenance experience of above Lines” to all new work forces that has been induct from time to time. Trained and developed the capability of crew for smooth running of above sections. Prepare Monthly Line Schedule shutdown & Preventive maintenance.

‘Build, Own, Operate and Maintain’ (BOOM) basis the above lines, Operational Panel Designed for easy operations.

Communications: The responsibilities include close coordination with Shift-In charge and close cooperation with Mill team, QAD & PPC staff to optimize production and quality from the sections.

And also in charge of consumables & Spares, inventory, procurement for line loading and scheduling activities.

Maintains and achieving day to day Production targets, Equipment Maintenance Planning and assessing line

performance, proposing operational improvements. Updating ISO process documentation and implementing quality

policies. Co-ordinate with IT dept. for implement system requirements for processing.

Monitor & control of Air Pollution, Water Pollution (ETP). Treating of 1,000Ltr/day and analysis of various parameter

like Alkalinity, Acidity & pH. Co ordinate with GPCB local Govt. bodies.

From August’04 onwards I promoted to Dept. Head for finishing lines (Cold Rolled Slitting & Cut-to-Length,

Bell - Annealing Furnaces) day to day Production activities.

Improve the yield and minimize the Cold Rolled coil ends.

Established best on-line HR Trimming, Best Feeding time for feeding coils.

. Achieved lowest acid consumption ( 23 Ltr /MT)

. Best production achieved (0.19mmx914 size at CR.-Slitter). 110Mt/shift. ( average coil weight 4Mt to 5Mt max

. Established and successfully trimmed ultra-thin Trimming (0.10 &0.09mm) in C.R slitting lines.

. Annealing furnaces inner Hood design changed for better life.

Worked in Cold-Rolling Mill complex and was associated with Project & Production sections of 400mm width High Carbon Steel strip 4HI- Cold-Rolling Mill, Cold bath HCL pickling, Bell Annealing, Muffle Furnace, C.R Slitter, De-burring and Polishing sections.

Major Responsibilities:

Primary function was total quality, production & Maintenance performance of above lines and associated in shifts for coordinates all activities of all and above lines during assigned in the shifts. Identify the problems, developing and implementing solutions. Also responsible for creating cordial working environment between technical staff, personnel and achieving operational results during shifts.

PROJECT ASSIGNMENT:-

. As my career starting tenure I got an project work opportunity with Bell Annealing 60MT Furnace to erect and

Commissioning the same. All equipments noted as per drawing/Design and BOM same as submitted to stores and when

ever required same as issued from stores for installation and commissioning.

. 4HI Rolling Mill Capital Shut down and overhaul all the Mechanical and auxiliary machine equipments.
