Resume:

JULIO C. HIDALGO, ME

915-***-**** *************@*****.***

Final Semester GPA: 3.33

Education

The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP)

El Paso, TX Mechanical Engineering, BS August 2012-July 2016

Objective

Driven to acquire a career where the skills I have attained will further obtain new techniques and hands on experience to an already rich knowledge in the field of engineering. Devoted, enthusiastic worker with proven record of leadership excellence. I am looking for the opportunity to succeed by using my background understanding that I have learned while receiving my degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Technical Experience

Thermal Fluids System Design/ Heat Recovery Unit January 2016-May 2016

Your goal is to heat water flowing at a rate of 0.7 LPM exactly 1.8. Deviations from this temperature value must be justified using experimental uncertainties. You can assume water inlet temperature varies between 23 and 25. Utilize ANSYS application.

Developed heat recovery unit by revolutionary design and analyze differential temperature using ANSYS application.

Determined cost report on heat recovery unit, manufacture cost, material assessments, calculation design all in time to finish project on due deadline.

Heat recovery unit was able to drop the temperature of the flowing water to the required 1.8.

Mechanical Design January 2015-May 2015

A stainless-steel shaft has two gears and one pulley on them. Consider load on each gear is 5,000 N. The load caused by pulley is 10000 N. Design safety factor 3.0. Length of the shaft is 1 m. Consider all loadings are static in your analysis, however, modified endurance limit with should be considered instead of static ultimate strength. (Se instead of Sut).

• Design your shaft such that the ratio of maximum and minimum Von-Mises Stress in the whole shaft is the lowest possible. (σm' ax /σm' in being the lowest) Utilize Design by NX Unigraphics, or Solidworks applications.

• Endurance limit calculation with consideration of modification factors (Ka, Kb, Kc…).

• Blue print, with all geometry and tolerance information.

• FEA analysis.

• Show at least three design iterations please, with lowest total weight in mind.

Seat Belt Buckle January 2015-May 2015

The project consists on the design and analysis of a buckle for Mini-Baja using NX Unigraphics, or Solidworks. Seat belt buckle is part of safety equipment, constraining the driver under collision. The safety buckle is one of the primary characteristics regarding safety.

• Must have a design safety factor no less than 3.0 Must resist high loading.

• Must withstand a Maximum loading of 5000N.

• Slot of strap must be 2 inches in length.

• Free to choose any buckle design as well as any material.

Working Experience

Glaz-Tech Industries (GTI) October 2013-January 2017 150 Industrial Rd Santa Teresa, NM 88008 (Temporary Hire On and Off) While attending college I was able to multi-task this position, which required a lot of attention and patience. I worked early shifts and still handle a full-time semester with major projects that also required attention and commitment.

New Mexico State University ROTC

• Most Improved Award 2011: New Mexico State University ROTC Air Force.

Skills

Ability to work with basic and advance computer software such as:

Word Processor • MATLAB • ANSYS • Insight (additive manufacturing processes),

Excel • Adams • Mathematica. • NX 10 Graphic Design

Languages

Bilingual, fluent in English and Spanish.
