Instrumental in the development of our new outpatient clinic within the VA. I was the first RN out of two that were hired to set-up clinic for patient monitoring and safety. I was hired first and had 4 months on my own to figure out clinic flow and ensure patient safety.
I was also responsible for setting up emergency plans to include active shooter, fire or bomb threats. Our clinic at the time was located at Lackland Air Force Base for 4 years.
Set up clinic with needed supplies and equipment. The VA rented an EDUCATION AND TRAINING
empty radiation vault clinic that was very challenging to reach The Joint Commission standards.

BAYFRONT MEDICAL CENTER - Saint Petersburg, Florida Worked as a staff nurse on a very busy cardiac unit. Took care of patient's prior to and after cardiac procedures of various types.
Our PCU was a step-down unit for post open heart patients. We would prepare them prior to surgery and once they stabilized they would be transferred to our PCU.
I worked by way up the nursing ladder since this was my first job. Initially, I was a staff nurse but within a year or so I was one of two Charge Nurses because our unit spread throughout the whole 4th floor. There were two nurses stations.
