Statistics primarily in SAS with R exposure.
Data mining using python with an emphasis on Pandas and scikit-learn. As part of a data mining lab team, executed a linear regression model to determine if network connectivity data contained sufficient information to determine if a connection is a normal connection or a network attack. A follow-on analysis was conducted using logistic regression to classify the network attack type. Additional projects covered principle component analysis, association rule mining, clustering, and document classification
Most classes were in part or in whole collaborative efforts during projects, exams, and papers. Team efforts provided a unique opportunity to mentor fellow students in software development and professional work product while leveraging a diverse talent pool.
Used class completion surveys and direct feedback to provide analysis of class and overall program issues for both content and presentation. This resulted in several course and program changes including use of peer-review for projects and inclusion of additional R lectures.
Suggested and will develop a larger ‘Data Science Ecosystem’ course for students to understand the breadth and depth of the applications, techniques, and libraries available to clean, analyze, and present common data science tasks.

Coaching and Review
Leveraged research and communication skills gained during law school to provide coaching and mentoring for several PhD candidates during preparation of their doctoral dissertations. Over time frames which ranged from two weeks to several months, spent evening and weekend time mentoring rewrites and revisions. Efforts ensured the flow of information was streamlined and complex ideas were unpackaged to remove assumptions and expose the underlying knowledge. Coaching ranged from small suggestions to example rework in order to provide the candidate with alternative presentations. Helped with the experimental design for one candidate where reaction time in a simulated crisis was being measured to determine the impact of new technology. As a non-subject matter expert, coached the candidate to ensure the material and presentation were approachable by a non-expert.
