ACHIEVEMENTS
Researched, analyzed, and identified a problem with the balance sheet income not matching the profit and loss income caused by the software producing duplicate transactions. Implemented corrective action resulting in an increase of $30,000 more profit that month.
Wrote, organized, and updated the accounting policies and procedures handbook. Provided auditors with complete, accurate documentation to base a qualified opinion. No costly penalties or assessments resulted.
Persuaded the 401K committee the company’s matching percentage from 6% to 8% of the employees’ contributions. The participation rate increased 20% and the company enjoyed a stronger benefits package to entice new hires.
Researched, analyzed, and compared costs of two alternative methods of hiring summer students for the company. Recommended that we hire them ourselves, resulting in better employee control and $10,000 in savings.
Successfully improved and streamlined some of our banking procedures in the area of cash management with the implementation of an online communication tap into the bank’s database. Saved the company several thousand dollars in service fees, reduced man-hours, and increased investment revenue by $60,000 annually.
Organized and presented financial information for company’s presentation to the Bureau of Workers’ Compensation as the company’s accounting expert.
