The Data warehouse has been built using, Informatic Power Center 9.6.1 HF4, Netezza 7.5.1, Oracle 11g, Unix Shell Scripting, Control-M and MicroStrategy for BI Reporting. As an ETL Architect my responsibilities were:
Worked closely with business users/Stake Holders to understand business requirements and convert that to functional and technical specifications and get it signed off by the users.
Prepared detail technical design document for all the enhancements to ensure accuracy and completeness against the business requirements and assign it to offshore team for detail code changes in the client/server applications according to enhancements.
Extracted data from various heterogeneous sources like Flat Files, CSV, Oracle, Netezza & Excel and loaded into Netezza Data warehouse.
Developed Re-Usable Mapplet to handle errors and to capture job status/Logs. Extensively used Re-Usable Unconnected Stored Procedure transformation to write Informatica Job status before and after the Load.

This project is to replace Vantive source system to SAP CRM and hence reporting system of EDW has to be retrofitted to accommodate the change. My responsibility was to gather system and data requirements from Onsite Coordinators and design logical and physical dimensional models for the data warehouse in a star and snowflake schema using Erwin Data Modeler. I studied the existing Systems and analyzed mapping between the Vantive CRM Source System and SAP CRM Source System and prepared a thorough impact/Gap analysis documents on the current system. I have designed detail high level, low level technical design documents and ETL strategy from base table to data warehousing objects. I have developed ETL mapping and transformations using Ascential Data stage 7.5.1 to load data from various sources like flat files, oracle database into target oracle 8i database, Job sequencer for job flow, routines to re-set the dates in control tables and job scheduler to execute the batch jobs. Developed FTP jobs to receive and send data to external system. Developed framework models/packages for the users in Cognos 8 Framework Manager. As a project lead, managed 17 members team, explained all the requirements & design, delegate the tasks, helped in development to resolve all the technical issues, reviewed their work and delivered it to onsite.
