Education:
● Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering with a G erman Minor earned May 2017 from A rizona State University.
● Graduate of B arrett, the Honors College a t Arizona State University.
● GPA: 3.48
Projects:
● President ( 2016-2017) of the A merican Society of Mechanical Engineers at ASU ( Vice President 2015-2016). Team lead of fabrication and design teams in 2015-2016; worked to accomplish the event-driven design, construction, and analysis of a faired recumbent bicycle that attempted to combine excellent handling behavior with high speed stability, and brought this bike to competition for the first time since 2012. Used ANSYS simulation and fabrication techniques, such as bronze welding, to meet these goals within budget and time constraints.
● Performed thesis research on the relationship between b icycle frame stiffness and rider performance, using a factorial statistical model to examine the interaction between performance parameters, such as rider power output, heart rate, and stiffness. (Oct. 2016-Apr. 2017)
● Participated as Manufacturing Engineer in design and development of a s uspension seat for off-road vehicles u sing tuneable air springs and dampers, which will reduce vibrations and lateral accelerations around the vehicle’s roll center felt by the driver/passenger. ( Sept. 2016-present)
● Designed and fabricated multiple steel bicycles, with the goal of reducing the weight and improving the handling of a load bearing multirole bicycle suited to long distance racing and touring in rough conditions.
(June 2014-present)
● Researched and tested the cost effectiveness of a 3D printed round tube against a common polymer round tube in tensile and axial loading, in terms of shear modulus, Young’s modulus, and yield strength. ( Oct. 2015-Dec. 2015)
Work Experience:
● Bike Mechanic/Salesperson at G iant Scottsdale, Scottsdale, AZ ( Oct. 2014-May 2015, Nov. 2016-present)
● Bike Mechanic at B ainbridge Island Cycle Shop, Winslow, WA (J une-Aug. 2015, May-Aug. 2016)
