• Design and control of an Artificial Intelligence controller on separately excited DC motor where all the simulations were carried out using MATLAB and Simulink.
• Initial task included designing a PID controller using paper and pen, which is concidered as a conventional method. The PID gains holded good for small errors and small change in errors.
• Another conventional method used was creating a root-locus with the help of MATLAB command and hence determining the resonating response for a step input. With the help of time period and frequency of response, the PID gains weredetermined. This worked well even for higher error then before but was not robust enough for a high change in rate of error.
• Because of the previous issue, another advanced and Artificial Intelligent method was used named as adaptive controller with an inner and an outer loop of control system which helps in making use of previous information to get rid of change in error introduced. This helped in creating a robust controller but was slower than usual.
• The suggestion of project to create the best controller would be by designing a hybrid controller with both conventional and advanced type controller which would switch in the best suited condition for the controller.
