Lisa Ketchum

**** ***** ****

Chickasha, OK

405-***-****

I have spent my life working in the medical field but I am equipped with skills that would apply to any field. I have strong communication, leadership and organizational skills. I am most interested in roles that would allow me to grow as a manager but I am willing to prove myself and my skills as invaluable to any company.

Work Experience

Lead Transcriptionist

Integris Medical Group - Oklahoma City, OK

2008 to Present

Responsibilities

I am Lead Transcriptionist which consists of being responsible for transcribing accurate medical reports for various specialists at Integris. I maintain communication with my manager, as well as with the doctors if need be and have a set amount of work I am responsible for each day. I work remotely at home so I also must show initiative and discipline in getting my job done in a timely manner.

Accomplishments

I have done quality work and built a rapport with the doctors I work for. I also involve myself in contributing to Integris philanthropic You and I campaign to fund support for my chosen passion and to give back to the healthcare field that has given so much satisfaction to me.

Skills Used

This job requires strong discipline and leadership skills. There is often little contact with management so I am required to make decisions based on my knowledge of transcription and medical laws that apply, i.e., HIPPA, confidentiality and to use discretion regarding my office and people I come into contact with. I communicate with various clinic managers to solve report-related issues regarding the doctors, dictation, letters, etc.

Transcription Manager/Team Leader for OU Radiology

Digital Transcription Services, Inc - Oklahoma City, OK

June 1995 to October 2008

Responsibilities

I began as a remote Transcriptionist transcribing reports for various hospital accounts. After being a top producer for approximately 7 years I was promoted to Team Leader for OU Radiology account. After 4 years of taking care of scheduling, turnaround time, employee issues and concerns for 8 employees, I was promoted to Transcription Manager. At that point I was responsible for 38 hospital and clinic accounts and over 100 transcriptionists daily assignments, turnaround time, communication of any kind between hospital/clinic management, quality control, hiring and firing as well as all disciplinary consultations. I remained in that position until I chose to go back to a remote job at home and became Team Leader for All Integris accounts, i.e., Baptist, Southwest and Canadian Valley Hospitals.

Accomplishments

I have multiple letters from many of the transcriptionists I managed during my time as Transcription Manager. I was told by all of them that I was the best manager they had ever worked for at DTS. I was equally respected by the owner and CEO who has since retired but we remain in contact and I could certainly produce his recommendation letter as well. I was pivotal in gaining the half million-dollar a year account for University Radiology and Medical Records as their decision was based primarily on our performance on the radiology account and our communications during that time. I also took part in many innovative meetings to benefit both the transcriptionists as well as management during my time as manager.

Skills Used

Leadership and communication are my strongest points. I was forced to build excellent rapport with each hospital/clinic manager so my ability to adapt and communicate with all people is excellent. I am a strong multitasker and have the ability to work with a variety of people and situations and make solid decisions when need be, however, I also recognize the chain of command and respect and use it accordingly.
