Experience:
Assistant Treasurer, Exelis Inc. (A spin-off of ITT Corporation), October, 2011 – August, 2015
Investment Management: Managed the split of retirement assets (both pension and 401(k)) from ITT to Exelis Inc. and Xylem, Inc. which were spun off from ITT in October, 2011. Continued as Director of Investments and Chair of the Exelis Investment Committee with investment responsibility for over $7 billion of qualified and non-qualified pension and savings plan assets until the merger of Exelis with Harris Corporation in May, 2015. During that time, implemented various strategies de-risk pension plan and improved processes and controls governing plan assets.
Insurance: Re-assumed responsibility of insurance in May, 2014 upon the departure of the incumbent Director of Risk Management. Lead the insurance team in the spin-off of Vectrus, Inc. from Exelis in September, 2014 and the integration of Exelis’ insurance program into Harris’ in May, 2015, exceeding the synergy goals set by Harris by 2X.
Assistant Treasurer, ITT Corporation (1991 – October 2011):
Finance: Primary responsibility for managing banking relationships, negotiating revolving credit line ($ 1.75 billion), acquisition financing and providing support in corporate finance and managing rating agency relationships. Worked on bridge financing for ITT’s acquisition of Caesars World and Madison Square Garden in the early 1990’s, as well as the credit facilities for ITT, ITT Industries and the Harford, when ITT executed a three-way IPO in November, 1995
Investment Management: Director of Investment (since 2010), Member and subsequently Chair (in 2010), Pension Investment Committee with investment responsibility for U.S. Pension Master Trust ($4.2 billion), Savings Plans ($2.2 billion), Foreign Welfare Plans ($200 million, U.K. and Canada) and Non-qualified benefit plans ($100 million); also manage custodian and consultant relationships and interface between investment management and actuarial and benefits accounting.
Insurance: Director of Insurance responsible for $ 75 million global property and casualty program covering over 40 countries and including management of captive insurance company; Part of team that manages and values the company’s legacy liabilities, including asbestos, silicosis and environmental liabilities
Corporate Development: Member of due diligence and integration teams for corporate development covering insurance, cash management, finance and pensions.
Benefits: Member of ITT Benefits Administration Committee, which is responsible for Benefit Plan administration, reporting, recordkeeping, participant communication and compliance.
