PROJECT MANAGER
Project Management Team Development Communication Process Improvement
“Project management is art of communication”
Profile
I’ve always enjoyed exploring new experiences, people and cultures and have traveled to seventeen countries. This has given me the benefit of communicating with people from wide backgrounds and cultures, providing me a broad and diverse perspective. This is an important business skill given our interconnected global economy. I am from Japan and bilingual in Japanese and English. I have experience with multinational companies in diverse countries such as Sweden, United States, and France while working as a project manager in Tokyo. Project management is both an art and a science. The science behind it has been facilitated by applying the core principles and best practices at work and through a formal study program at UCLA Business Extension’s project management certificate program. I intend to solidify this knowledge by obtaining a PMP certificate. Where I really excel in project management is in my ability to apply the art of project management by directing and leading teams, being sensitive to my surroundings and the people within it and communicating effectively with my stakeholders. Therefore, I will benefit your organization with my leadership, critical thinking and creative skills by delivering projects both efficiently and effectively. Summary of Major Accomplishments
When I worked for Ericsson, I was able to forecast scope, time and cost by accurately estimating the number of resources needed for a project that was two years in duration from start to finish. This project was completed within 10% of the baselines forecast.
Also, I took over a troubled project from a previous project manager and was still able to complete the project under budget by $20,000 USD.
Due to my team building and communication skills, I have been consistently able to create a productive work atmosphere leading my project teams to deliver projects that were on average 15% within schedule and 10% under budget. These included projects at AIG.
