ACCOMPLISHMENTS

•Designed MDF and IDFs and coordinated infrastructure installation during construction of a ten story office building.

•Technology designer, coordinator and project manager for the relocation of a remote 1,000 employee call center.

•Designed datacenter layout and network for a 2500 square foot, remote disaster recovery and alternate data center

•Successfully transitioned from obsolete network equipment impacting nine floors with over 1000 end-users within two office buildings.

•Re-established business network availability during a building flood disaster within 24 hours by facilitating fiber connectivity from the building to an emergency office trailer.

Manager Network and Security Operations 2000 - 2016

Responsible for all aspect of operations, including; physical infrastructure, equipment acquisition, project planning and management, network and security staff personnel, logistics and budget management.

•Delivered successful “design to implementation” network enhancements by working closely with network and security architects, network engineers, and other operations departments.

•Replaced obsolete network equipment and infrastructure in a ten thousand square foot data center supporting 2500 windows, UNIX and storage devices. Assisted in the design and managed the project with no interruptions to data center production. This was accomplished by utilizing parallel upgraded network equipment, diverse fiber and copper cabling and coordinated efforts with cable vendor, server and network teams.

•Designed and managed build-out of a 1000 staff remote call center, comprising; cable infrastructure, network equipment, electrical requirements, UPS systems, and data circuits. Approved RFP and vendor for cable installation. Ordered and verified all infrastructure material and network equipment required. Project manager for technology infrastructure and conducted progress reviews, corrections, and changes while adhering to an aggressive schedule. Assisted with installation of network equipment and provided assistance to server teams ensuring success on first day of operations. Present on first day to ensure any technology issues were addressed.

•Replaced network infrastructure within two remote office buildings. Responsible for power, cabling, staffing, coordination of technicians and business units to avoid disruptions as well as removal and disposal of de-installed equipment. New network equipment was specified, ordered and installed in parallel to existing in advance. Over multiple weekends all building cabling and end-users were transferred from previous equipment to newly installed equipment.

•Installation of redundant RF cellular communications systems within two office building campus. Technology and infrastructure manager overseeing external vendors’ and adherence to building standards and company policies.

Associate Manager Network Operations 1995 – 2000

Responsible for local and wide area networks in corporate headquarters and field offices throughout the United States and Canada.

•Responsible for WAN and LAN in 75 field offices, including four call centers and an alternate data & disaster recovery site, utilizing redundant and diverse MPLS data circuits

•Project manager responsible for the upgrade of two, ten story office buildings from obsolete voice and data cabling to latest cable technology without impacting business operations. This was a one year project coordinating cable vendors, building facility managers and business representatives and the creation of 20 new IDFs.

•Project manager and technical resource for the network infrastructure during construction of a 10 story office building requiring; collaboration with cable vendors, building contractors, internal and external network engineers and building facilities staff resulting in an on schedule occupancy accommodating company growth.

•Created room layout and technology designs for a new 2500 square foot disaster recovery facility. Established requirements for power and network and then directed and assisted with the installation at the facility working with vendors, network, security and server teams.

•Traveled extensively to field offices throughout the US to perform equipment upgrades and installation of new or relocated offices’ network facilities. This required the coordination of data circuit providers and infrastructure vendors such as electricians, cable installers, and building facilities managers.
