Aside from being an integral part of saving our bookstore, Novel (previously Booksellers at Laurelwood and Davis-Kidd), I am proud of Laurelwood having its most profitable years under my guidance as C.O.O. Laurelwood has become a cultural institution in many ways, with our sponsorships supporting local institutions like Hattiloo Theatre, Latino Memphis, and Ronald McDonald House of Memphis. My vision for the Center was never to be a typical shopping center. My duties involve a wide array of tasks: property management, marketing, leasing negotiations, construction and design, managing security, and event planning. I'm extremely hands-on as a landlord and marketer, and it allows me to be intimately involved in virtually every aspect of the Center. I basically view my job as a problem solver, and I love that my tenants know that they can trust me and rely on me. We rarely have tenants move or leave, and I can take that as a testament to my management style.
