1. Walking Beam Fu rnace (WBF)

I t is designed by VULCAN, natural gas fired reheating furnace with

capacity of 15 TPH.

Monitoring & maintaining desired process parameters for

various seamless pipe sizes & grades in WBF like temperature, air

gas ratio, burner f lame patterns, socking time etc.

Monitoring the smooth and safe operation of hydraulic pumps,

eccentric cycles of beam, ID/FD fans, recuperator etc.

Preventive & Breakdown maintenance of WBF wall and f loor.

2. Stretch Reducing M ill (Sizing M ill)

The mill is 18 stand stretch reducer manufactured by SCHLOEMANN,

Germany with overlap hydraulic drives driven by different types of gear

boxes, Main AC motor (910kw, 1000rpm), DC motors to adjust and vary

speed of stands.

Maintenance of different types of Gearboxes of the mill like

D ifferential Gearbox, Reduction Gearbox, mother gear box.

Maintenance of the hydraulic and lubrication system

(splashing, force feed type of lubrication) of the mill.

Contributing in production planning with the coordination of

PPC for production feasibility with respect to current production

p lanning and capacity.

Process design for various seamless pipe sizes for Stretch

Reducing M ill like stretch factor and outer diameter reduction

factor.

Handling 7 personnel in shift for the production of hot

p ipe/tubes.

Problem solving in routine works, conduct root cause analysis

and find the effective solution for continuous production.

Preparing monthly Management Information data (MIS) like

P roduction, Breakdown and other costing data.

Keeps work area clean and well organized in a 5S manner.

Maintaining documents as per requirement of ISO standards.

Activities on SAP like Production confirmation, Reservation &

Project : 1. Bio-gas as conventional fuel in SI Engines (Maruti-8OO)

We had used bio-gas as a fuel in maruti-800 and for that we

had modified the engine by replacing the piston with Wagon-R

and changing other process parameters

We achieved the average of 17.6 km/kg with biogas which is

more than that of LPG.
