Responsible for ensuring Red Cross programs and services were provided in uniform, quality manner throughout the state. Served as liaison between chapters and the national organization. Responsible for directing statewide fund raising efforts and conducting training for staff. Provided leadership and support to chapters in programs; committee and board development; staff recruitment, training and retention; strategic planning and other issues as requested. Supported statewide committees and provided direct service upon request.
• Directed ongoing fund raising program utilizing direct marketing to fund Red Cross emergency response to areas not directly supported by a chapter. Program was fully funded since inception and maintains $10,000+ in reserves.
• Coordinated and conducted training with 90% of chapters participating. 27 classes conducted in the last 18 months in the position with over 600 candidates enrolled in nine different fund raising topics.
• Developed and implemented a plan to ensure 24-hour coverage for emergency calls.
• Facilitated and supported a review of all chapters in the state that resulted in 54% of chapters attaining re-chartered status. Coordinated a support plan for the areas not recharted to ensure Red Cross services were available.
• Trained 18 individuals in first aid or CPR who later received the National Certificate of Merit (Red Cross’s highest award for saving or sustaining a life).
