-Storage Integration and Feature Test
Simulate a customer environment in order to test functionality, manageability, and robustness of back-end storage. The primary focus is integrating NetApp E-Series hardware (formerly LSI) with Teradata’s platform lines. These systems span the range of tiered storage implementing dual controllers in an active-active configuration with dedicated LUN ownership. These systems employ fibre channel, SAS, or a combination of the two for their back-end and front-end cabling, utilizing a variety of RAID levels. Lead test engineer for the deployment of RAID 6.
-Customer Support
Served as the primary contact for all storage related field issues that are escalated to engineering, including being on-call for after-hours support. Responsible for communicating with customer support organization to resolve issues quickly and efficiently. Liaison between our vendor, NetApp, and our customer support organization for issues requiring firmware upgrades, hardware defects and feature changes ensuring reliable resolution for customers. In charge of creating customer documentation for change controls including risk assessments. Worked at customer sites including the support of Teradata’s largest storage install to date (512 nodes, 1,024 controllers, 18,000+ HDDs).
-Technical Lead
Accountable for leading a team of 2-3 engineers. Scoping and scheduling of 3-5 concurrent projects and allocating scarce staff and hardware resources to ensure on-time completion. Mentor junior engineers on the team to improve their technical skills and further their professional development. Responsible for interfacing with cross-functional engineering teams in regard to the obsolescence of hard disk drives.
