Responsibilities: Maintain the lab where chemo and I.V medications are made.
This consists of making sure the proper chemicals are used to ensure the
sanitation of all machines and hoods. Every day a different chemical must be
used to decontaminate the hoods, and then be identified on a chart. Connect all
tubing and set up all the machines used for making I.V’s. Keep pharmacy area
clean and stocked. Pull medication used to make I.V for the pharmacist. Put
together kits for at home I.V patients containing instructions to using the
medication provided and drug information. Help make I.V’s with the supervision
of a licensed pharmacist. Working around all levels of medication including
narcotics. Be able to maintain patient confidentiality.
