ACADEMIC PROJECTS
Purchasing Report for Shell (USA) - Profiled the Shell Oil Company in the US with emphasis on their
purchasing organization providing detailed description of the supplier management strategies. Performed the
ABC spends and SWOT Analysis and suggested a hypothetical supplier management solution.
City Library Construction – Provided feasibility plan for a library construction with a budget of $12
million. Defined the project charter, developed the project scope and applied CPM techniques to identify the
critical path. Deliverables included a communication chart, resource chart and responsibility matrix.
Cisco Case Study – Collaborated supplier strategy and studied the supply chain for the new product
introduction, the Viking. Analyzed the pool of suppliers and provided a detailed justification for the decision
to not move their production operations from China and derived a feasibility plan with the consultation of
industry experts.
Apartment Rental Industry – Collected and analyzed the prices of the apartment rentals by sampling
apartment complexes in metropolitan Dallas. Quantified the demand parameters and projected a demand
response curve based on rental history and prevalent market prices. This project answered the ever
intriguing question of how to get the overall optimal value for the rent that the industry players charge.
Community Bike Sharing – Designed and prepared an executive report on a project for launching a shared
biking service on campus for the use of students, faculty and staff. The mission was to come up with an
effective marketing plan to implement this idea and provide cost and profit analysis report. Designed to
comprise of optimum marketing mix and efficient Segmentation, Targeting and Positioning for the best sell
possible.
