WORK EXPERIENCE
National Renewable Energy Laboratory, Golden, Colorado Summer 2004 Research
Assistant Internship
• Gained valuable experience with five types of systems: Active/Direct System Recirculation,
Active Draindown Systems, Integrated Collector Storage, Thermosiphon, Backup System, and
Antifreeze Active Indirect Systems
• Analyzed data and research the five types of solar water heater. Determined what solar water
heater was best depending on the climate.
• Determined what was the failure of the solar water heater that was returned to Hawaii Electric
Company during 1998 to 2004.
Burgess Services Augusta, Georgia- Fort Gordon July 2008- March 2009 Project
Office Engineer –Security Clearance for Fort Gordon
• Contractor to Hensel Phelps Construction Company
• Manager for the Mechanical Division for a Construction Project in Fort Gordon. Mechanical
Division included: Diesel Tanks, Plumping, Controls, and Mechanical Specifications
• Used AutoCAD to make changes that happen in the field
Proficient with reviewing mechanical drawings and blue prints. Reviewed submittal packages,
•
and AHA (Activity Hazard Analysis) sent in from the sub-contactor according to the
construction codes and specifications.
• Developed the scope, schedule and cost control for the project in Fort Gordon
• Managed the daily activities of Engineering contractors which consisted of Diesel, Plumping,
Controls, and Mechanical Insulation contractors
• Managed and coordinated deliveries with four different sub-contractors companies and closely
monitors onsite deliveries against the submittal package submitted by the sub-contractors.
Managed on the job conflicts between sub-contractors. Created different strategies for when
sub-contractors fail behind the schedule.
• Conducted weekly walk through of the building to assure that the building reflect the
mechanical drawings and equipment.
• Used CAD software to make any changes that happen in the field to reflect the blueprint
building changes.
• Developed and receiving inspection, ES testing, and final inspection of equipment
• Developed SOW(Statement of Work) for Diesel Fuel Station with 8-300000 gallons fuel and
the installment of the Fuel station
• Quality management and quality assurance
Ennovate Corporation Aurora, Colorado October 2007 – June 2008
Energy Engineer
• Well-advanced with HVAC sizing for boilers, chillers, pumps, motors, fans, lightening and
windows for the rural school and business in Colorado and Nevada areas to make the building
more energy efficient.
• Used Energy modeling using TRACE 700. Experience with doing saving calculation using
previous electric, water, and gas bills based on cost with real local utility rates used in the
models.
• Used AutoCAD for proposal to show the client were there mechanical equipment will be
located in the building.
• Collected and analyzed information which was use to conduct for the energy models. The
proposed design and design performance are then but in TRACE 700. The result will show the
original baseline of the building and the proposed Energy Cost Modeling (energy efficient
lightening, fans, or HVAC systems)
• Experience with Energy Management Systems (EMS)
Strengthening Minority Access in Research & Training Program (SMART)
Southern University and A& M College Fall 2006
• SMART Program gave me an opportunity to participate in research under the guidance of
experienced faculty mentors
• Created a database using Southern University blackboard to upload information on different
types of lab machines, manuals, and warranties. (Visual Basics, AutoCAD, Math LAB)
• This program made it easier for the professors to keep a track of the lab machine’s manuals and
warranty papers
• Knowledge and experience maintain and troubleshooting robotics
Team Work and Leadership Senior Design Project- Model Airplane Fall 2006
• Worked with seven other students on senior design project is to build a model airplane
according to the specification and also put the plane in flight.
Motivated my fellow classmates by making sure we were building the plane to the correct
•
codes and specifications.
• Managed and coordinated the senior design project to assure that the group stays on schedule
with the design.
• Used AutoCAD to drawing different parts and components for our senior design project.
MECHANICAL EXPERIENCE
• Troubleshooter of various machines within undergraduate classes such as Heat Transfer,
Machines and Machines, Engineering Metallurgy, and Fluid Mechanics
• Hands on experience and provided assistance with engine, transmission, and brake work on
automobiles
• Prototype Manufacturing
