Highlighted Accomplishments
Recovered/reconciled $1.5M negative cost of sales issue for PerkinElmer.
Identified excessive negative cost of sales due to large numbers of Return
Material Authorizations (RMA) in inventory. Researched/traced all
transactions for assemblies shipped with RMAs. Recovered $1.3M and
reversed transactions, shifting cost from COS to Inventory.
Key player in implementing BaaN, reconciling $80M Flextronics inventory to
just $141. Company was converting from Dataworks to BaaN. Participated in
defining parameters for system, ensuring parts and WIP Account were at
minimum. Trained staff on system use and prepared month-end reports.
Completed reconciliation to minimal amount.
Transferred Oracle Cost Accounting system to Verilink operation in Alabama
as part of plant closure. Company was closing California operation and
needed to transfer cost accounting to Alabama. Negotiated contracts to
transition manufacturing to subcontractor, Wellex, enabling jobs for five
CA staff. Trained AL accounting staff on Oracle system.
Conducted ISO audits, identifying and rectifying issues for functional
areas at PerkinElmer. Evaluated purchasing/receiving and cost accounting
procedures for Engineering and R&D areas. Evaluated procedures,
identifying levels of adherence and approximately 6-12 errors. Provided
training to eliminate all issues within one month.
I have worked in the retail industry for over 10 years in total I worked in
New York for Wallachs a men's clothing storefor about 5 years and I worked
for Macy's for the Christmas season 2 yaers ago also selling mostly mens
clothing.
Volunteer work with Cub and Boy Scouts selling popcorn helping the boys
sell in front of stores and my son generally sold the most popcorn at the
stores or site sales. He also sold to people in our neighborhood and took
orders and then delivered the popcorn and collected the money and I had to
go with him.
