Key Accomplishments:
As Senior Structural Engineer for ADPI, Oman (engaged as Project
Management Consultants for the Muscat and Salalah International
Airports Project), lead all structural engineering aspects and
monitored the Engineer's performance in all matters related to all
Airport Buildings and Bridges, Culverts and other Civil Engineering
Structures vis- -vis compliance with the Contract/ Employer's
Requirements and provided structural engineering comments/ write-ups
to concerned Project Managers for pursuing the matters contractually
with the Engineer; with the objective to achieve the Contract-

1. Lead the Structures Section and provided general management and
advice in technical matters pertaining to structural design
criteria, structural analysis, design and detailing to the
Structures Section for all projects of Karachi Office. All work was
done in compliance with the ACI codes for concrete and masonry
works and AISC codes for structural steel works using both the
allowable stress design (ASD) and limit states design (LRFD)
philosophies.
2. Prepared conceptual designs, design criteria, design
methodology, systems concept, and did review of final structural
designs of all projects. Also performed overall quality assurance
of all projects, and promoted the use of computers for design and
drafting and preparing software and administrating training for the
purpose; research projects on various aspects of design; prepared
design guides and manuals.
3. Performed analysis, design and detailing of steel and concrete
structures for all types of buildings, power and electrical
facilities such as substations, transmission towers, latticed
structures, gantries and crane girders, busbars supports and
switchgear buildings, transformers and their foundations, cable
duct banks, cable trays, electrical manholes, and additions,
renovations and alterations to electrical buildings and
facilities.

well as field design support, for all buildings and structures for
Karachi International Airport, managing, supervising and leading a
team of 30-35 professional engineers and draughtsmen.
5. As Project Manager, performed coordination, monitoring and
structural design of the project of strengthening of supporting
structure (reinforced concrete) of a Soda Ash Plant and a Transit
Shed which were deteriorated structurally.
6. As Senior Engineer, did analysis, design and shop drawings of
Turbine Hall structural steel work, Tank and Pipe Bay structures,
Workshop and Store Building for Thermal Power Plant and structures
for steel mill and a new major port. Carried out investigations and
report writing on the causes of structural deterioration and
remedial measures for a chemical plant, rice mill, cement factory
and transit sheds with prestressed double tee elements for the
roof. Supervised load testing of a bini shell structure and transit
shed, roof beams and fire damaged airport terminal. Also performed
complete vetting of foreign vendor's structural design and top
supervision of the construction of 2000 tons/day cement plant.
