Gallagher Bassett Services Inc – Saint Louis, Missouri

Specific duties include investigation, evaluation and adjustment of a variety of automobile and general liability claims for various Gallagher Bassett Clients.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to adjustment of various claims for a captive program that includes several dozen members in the construction business. The majority of the claims involve construction defect allegations, construction injuries and contractual, indemnification and contribution issues. Many of the claims results in litigation, thus creating the need to retain defense counsel and, if warranted, coverage counsel.

Additional claims include auto liability and general liability.

Senior Claim Representative/General Adjuster

November 2003 to February 2006

National Farmers Union – Denver, Colorado

Originally hired as a casualty field claim representative investigating automobile and general liability claims. In addition, was assigned as the claim representative for all construction defect claims in the office. These claims include contractual, indemnification and contractual issues.

Promoted to General Adjuster after two years. All claims were of a litigious nature, including the construction claims.

Controlled and directed efforts of defense counsel to move toward resolution. Utilized alternative dispute resolutions in an effort to resolve the litigation, prior to trial, thus saving legal and indemnity dollars.

Investigate, evaluate, negotiate and adjust personal lines casualty and property claims. The majority of claims involved bodily injury and litigation resulting in extensive contact with defense counsel. Directed and controlled all suit activity.

Responsibilities included investigation, evaluation, negotiation and adjustment of commercial lines claims.

This required supervision and direction of defense counsel to ensure proper discovery is completed for early, accurate evaluation.
