Reporting to QA/QC Manager and responsible for the following:

To implementation of quality plans & procedures, conduct site inspection of

electrical & instrumentation works.

. Monitors day-to-day activities, including the inspection of the

materials, of the Construction Contractor along with the contractor's

inspectors to ensure compliance with contract documents,

specifications, codes and standards.

. Examine the installation of electrical systems and equipment to ensure

that they have been installed correctly, functioning properly, have

been tested in accordance with procedures and industry standards and

comply with electrical codes and standards.

. Perform "Hold" "Witness " and "Surveillance" Inspections and tests at

construction site to ensure compliance with Occidental of Oman

requirements and project specifications.

. Record legibly and accurately all controversial and non-complying

construction practices, materials and equipment and report to

supervisor detailed potential problems for early resolution.

. Raise Non Conformance Reports (NCRs) and Discrepancy Report (DR), when

. Ensure that the Construction Contractor has proper work plans and

Method Statements to address work around live power systems and live

. Ensure that wiring, instrumentation and equipment installation is per

the highest level of industry practices.

. Ensures that equipment, instrumentation and wiring are properly tested

and documented as required to ensure proper operations.

. Ensures all required documentation for the project is completed in a

satisfactory and timely manner, including construction documentation

and material inspection reports and certifications.

. Witness the calibration of instruments and ensure the required

certification is produced.

. Reviews the construction plans, drawings and manages documentation.

. Assure the Construction Contractor has the right resources to do the

job, that the Construction Contractors' equipment is in a safe working

condition, and that any permits or equipment certificates are

available.

. Witness/inspection for installation of Cathodic activities

(Installation of anode mesh, conductor bars, spot welding, permanent

reference electrodes, power feeders, resistance and potential test).

. Works with the Senior Field QC Inspector to establish weekly and day-

to-day work priorities for the Construction Contractors, if required,

and communicate it to the Construction Contractors.

. Ensures that any critical material receipt information associated with

equipment and material being provided by Contractor is received and

distributed properly.

. Reports major Construction Contractor performance and quality

deficiencies to the Occidental Quality Control Manager or Senior Field

Inspector for resolution.

. Ensures that the contractor inspectors fulfill their quantity survey

and inspection/ quality assurance functions.
