CORE COMPETENCIES

Process Engineering/Plant Layout - Caterpillar Hydraulics - Developed

detailed work instructions so Chinese engineers in Wuxi, China could

manufacture hydraulic valves. Processes included machining, lapping, stem

grinding, assembly, pressure and leak testing, painting, packing and

shipping(2 year project)

Aqua-Chem - Developed assembly procedures to assemble RO water purification

units, including fixtures to manufacture cable assemblies- units were

shipped to Desert Storm in early 90' Set- up stock room to store pre-

manufactured components. Also completely in charge of all sub-contracting

during project (5- year contract working directly with Army).

Prime Manufacturing - Purchased equipment and set up welding department

(before Auto Cad), manufacturer of Chinese railroad air conditioners.

Michaels Machine Company - Managed the transfer of CNC machine shop from

Loves Park, IL to Rockford, IL. Included layout of all machines including

the location and installation of water, air and fluid lines to the

machines. Material flow was a big factor in smaller building.

Fixtures - Aqua-Chem - Helped operator design holding fixture for piping.

Cooper Industries - Designed a brazing fixture for a vacuum interrupter and

a 3-station machine for inverting a rubber tube for a specialized

electrical resistance application. Caterpillar Hydraulics - Did a special

study on the setup of a CNC machining center, adding fixture components to

a tombstone, including the development of slides using Power Point.

Tooling - Cooper Industries - With the engineering team, developed a 100+

page manual and a computerized system to identify all tools, and integrated

them into previously hand-written routings for electrical power

transmission equipment. Michaels Machine Company - Purchased required

tooling and holding fixtures for CNC 2-Station multi-spindle automatic

screw machine. Western Machine Company- Machine shop estimator in high

precision job shop early in career.

Working with Design Teams - Sunrise Medical - Worked with design team to

set up the manufacturing processes for nursing home beds. Aqua-Chem -

Worked with design, quality and maintenance teams to develop RO water

purification system. They designed the components, the proto-types were

stored in the stock room. Another engineer and I packed everything into

the 20 ft x 8 ft x 8 ft van, with the help of the maintenance team. Rock

Island Arsenal - Worked with production and quality to develop

manufacturing plans for MRAP military armor components. Included Non-

conforming material distribution and manufacturing defects. BAE - Worked

with welding department to rectify defective assembly issues, and keep the

assembly line going for MRAP military vehicles. In general, have worked

with quality, maintenance teams in addition to design teams in most

projects I have been working with.

Preventative Maintenance - Was in charge of creating PM programs while at

Freudenberg-NOK, after the neglect of not using them cause the the quality

of the vibration dampening discs to have a serious dip. The machines were

CNC lathes. Also acted as laiason for Total Productive Maintenance Program

at Harley Davidson. Also did 6S audits while working at Letterkenny Army

Depot while assembling MRAP military vehicles.

OEE - Worked with Overall Equipment Effectiveness while working as a

facilities engineer at CNH prior to becoming a Supplier Quality Assurance

Engineer.

Purchase of equipment - Was Project Manager for the purchase and

installation of a Traub Multi-Spindle Screw Machine while at Michaels

Machine Company, and for the transfer of a manufacturing facility a

distance of 10 miles.

Ergonomics - Used to relocate assembly cells, along with SPC, for

Motorcycle engine and transmission manufacturing company in Milwaukee, WI.

Quality Management Systems - Worked with a Canadian management consulting

company to teach companies how to improve their businesses, including the

preparation for Certification of ISO 9001, TS16949, ISO 13485 and ISO

17025. Did both Sales consulting and preparing companies to do internal

auditing.

Developed complete work instructions for Robotic and manual MIG welding of

loaders. Used Team Center Vismockup and Pro-planner as well as video and

digital cameras to develop these professionally done visual aids well ahead

of the client's expectation.

John Deere - Davenport Works

June 2012 to March 2013

Industrial Engineer (Contract)

Completed assigned sub-project with John Deere in Davenport IA to improve

the productivity, quality and safety of large loader assembly, as part of

quality blitz team. Balanced small loader assembly line, andincluded

improvement of material handling system by replacing carts with roller

conveyors. Reviewed and made suggestions for improvement, 2700+ work

instructions.

Rock Island Arsena

April 2011-May 2012

Process Planner (Contract)

Successfully planned the process for manufacturing armor components for

MRAP and Stryker military vehicles. Worked extensively with customized SAP

system, developing Bills of Material, routings, and writing tool orders for

both NC programs and tool design. Manufacturing processes included 2D and

3D laser cutting, multi-axis vertical and horizontal machining centers,

welding, plating and painting. Also estimated the manufacturing cost of new

parts using Costimator estimating tool

Consultant (Self Employed)

Based on signed alliance with Process Quality Associates in London, Ontario

Canada, collaborating with management consulting company to find

potential clients for Process Quality Associates (PQA) and Tucker Technical

Resources (TTR).

Currently addressing certification of United States medical device

manufacturers who want to sell products outside the United States.

Process Quality Associates (PQA) prepares the company to be certified to

ISO 13485 with TTR locating the client companies in the United States and

Canada, additionally receiving a percentage of the profits.

BAE Systems

2009

Floor Support Engineer (Contract)

Successfully troubleshot issues that prevented truck line from moving,

including mechanics, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic. Efficiently

performed and completed safety audits, operational audits, and 6S analysis.

Effectively collaborated with a diversified group of mechanics for

effective quality of work. Worked with both weld shop and Supplier Quality

Engineers.

Markedly increased assembly efficiency by 50%.

Caterpillar Hydraulics

2006 - 2008

Manufacturing Engineer (Contract)

Developed visual work instructions for the manufacture of hydraulic valves,

all sizes. Observed the actual processes and with the use of a digital

camera, did both stills and videos to describe the process. These

instructions were used by the Chinese in Wuxi, China to completely

manufacture a hydraulic valve. This included machining, lapping, stem

fitting, assembly, test and pack and ship. Also developed Standard Work so

that assembly process was the same on all three shifts, sequence by

sequence. This was developed by the findings of a Rapid Improvement

Workshop, a kaisen continuous improvement activity.

Certified tractor component parts from outside suppliers and verified that

all processes, including production part approval processes (PPAPs),

reproducibility, Control Plans, Flow Charts, and Statistical Process

Control, were completed on time.

Successfully performed and completed GM QS9000 audits at various automotive

component manufacturing facilities and managed set up process and quality

teams in brake manufacturing company, ultimately increasing efficiency from

to solve porosity problems on aluminum cast motorcycle part. Utilized

digital camera, including set up of visual aids for deburring of parts.
