PROJECTS
Radiation Detection UAV, Drexel University, PA
Designed and constructed a proof of principle device for radiation detection in closed environments. Used a systems
engineering approach to complete the device within 6 months and performed a live demonstration to potential sponsors.
Automated Solidworks Bearing, King of Prussia, PA
Used a Timken database and Solidworks software to create a system that accurately models bearings by selecting type
and main dimensions. This reduced bearing modeling to approximately 2 minutes.
WORK EXPERIENCE
SPS Technologies, Jenkintown, PA
Engineering Intern, September 2011-March 2012
•Acted as interim project manager for the evaluation and improvement of 12 lathes used for rivet production
•Analyzed quality issues of aerospace fasteners for potential causes, severity, and rework operations
•Created and executed Sigma 6 designed experiment to calculate the effectiveness of an automatic stop installed
on a radiac saw which was then used to implement design changes to the corresponding machines
•Wrote and implemented new tumbling procedures for 7 separate devices using industry standards
•Presented daily reports on quality issues and current projects in a professional meeting format
CDI-Aerospace, Philadelphia, PA
Design Engineer, September 2010-March 2011
Applied design changes to complex V22 Osprey 3D models currently being manufactured including fuselage
alteration, landing gear revisions, and electrical systems modification
Worked with teams from CDI and Boeing to create inter-linked assemblies
Modified existing assembly drawings in accordance with the model and assembly alterations made by the teams
Philadelphia Gear Corporation, King of Prussia, PA
Engineering Assistant, September 2009-March 2010
Created detailed drawings using Solidworks and AutoCAD and verified the accuracy of current production
Reverse engineered gear boxes to accurately model for design and analysis purposes
Altered existing designs to meet customer requirements
Repaired and tested control boxes used with variety of geared systems
