Specialized painting and assembly processes for the major automotive groups including Toyota,
Honda, GM, Ford, and Nissan, as well as John Deere and Peterbuilt. TS 16949 and ISO 14000

Paint Engineer
Daily activities included supervising workers, set work schedules, assignments and production
sequences, enforced safety and health rules, inspected materials and products, managed budgets,
reviewed production costs, communicated changes in policies, procedures and strategies,
recommended improvements, developed downtime reduction strategies, coordinated with other
departments concerning new product launches, attended management, safety, and production
meetings. Although my title was Paint Engineer, my primary focus was in Continuous
Improvement. I completed several cost saving projects including material and energy reduction
procedures resulting in a potential $200,000 annual savings. I also developed a new production
schedule format that eliminated numerous scheduling errors and enabled production workers to
easily interpret and follow schedule. I designed and implemented poka yoke devices which
eliminated costly miscount and finished product discrepancies.

Personal
My approach to any task has always been to give the best I have. My father instilled in me many
years ago the philosophy; if you are to be a broom pusher, then be the best broom pusher the
company has ever had. Take pride in what you do, and do it to the best of your ability. When
leading other people, quite often it is their accomplishments that show the value and quality of
your own work. I feel very strongly that working as part of a team is an opportunity to showcase
not only personal and team achievements, but also to display organizational commitment to
manufacturing excellence through safety, quality, and production, all with team member
involvement. Striving for excellence is habit forming, and contagious.
