Responsibilities:

Day-to-day oversight of 5 to 8 technicians on the retail side of the

pharmacy to ensure timely and precise processing and delivery of

prescription medications to our patients. Appropriate and professional

documentation and record keeping of all prescription processing, necessary

daily reports, and inventory control. On the nursing home side of the

pharmacy, oversight of cart filling using the Opus system and detailed

verification of medications to be delivered to long term care facilities

contracted with our company for such services. Provision of clinical

services when requested by nursing home staff.

Accomplishments:

Reduction in inventory at the Carl Junction location by more than

$300,000 while still maintaining more than adequate levels to meet patient

needs. Implementation of ordering system whereby expensive medications

were ordered only days before they were needed for the patient rather than

sitting on the shelf for extended periods of time, thereby improving cash

flow. Through improved customer relations was instrumental in the growth of

daily prescriptions filled from an average of less than 30 to an average of

more than 60. Leader of the team at the Joplin location that was awarded

Store of the Year honors out of 28 stores for 2011. Received an

Outstanding Achievement award from the company and was runner-up for

Outstanding Newcomer of the Year.

Pharmacokinetic dosing and monitoring of vancomycin and gentamicin, PO to

IV conversion of medications for patients and determination of when this

was clinically appropriate, inspection of floor stock areas of nursing

stations. Preparation of MAR for daily delivery to nursing stations.

Worked closely with physicians, nursing, and other pharmacy staff to ensure

the appropriate, timely and accurate delivery of all necessary medications

for our patients.
