from one end of the IT spectrum to the other ranging from; fiber optics to

coding custom shell scripts and from database development to hardware

repair. As a consultant, I can speak Six Sigma as well as Acquisitions and

with 20 years of military service, I speak military as well. I easily

. Black Belt Lean Six Sigma project consisted of development of a Tier I,

II, and III automated helpdesk with both a custom frontend and web-based

interface supporting seven different Army-wide human resource systems

running on both the NIPRNET and SIPRNET.

. Black Belt project reported savings of over 320 work hours per week and

$5,000,000 in software licensing and support costs. Reduced PLT from 50 to

less than 1.5 per month and increased PCE from 1% to over 10% per day.

Reduced wait-time from 65 days average to less than 14 days and reduced WIP

from over 900 to less than 100.

. Automated hundreds of manual tasks using highly custom scripts and SQL to

free up three fulltime personnel previously dedicated the tasks.

. Using Microsoft SQL DTS and highly custom shell scripts both in DOS and

UNIX, automated the process of creating the DMDC file which is used by the

DOD for tracking all military branches, members, and civilians and many

other personnel related systems. This single automation effort freed an

entire data management section from manual tasks.

. Web based a myriad of reports, previously emailed, resolving access and

security concerns using single sign-on and LDAP security techniques.

. Briefed, trained, and fielded the initial push of the very small aperture

terminal (VSAT) and wireless CSS automated information system interface

(CAISI) devices to the Army Adjutant General population. Black Belt project

was used to track fielding and support requests.
