Accountabilities as Quality Control Inspector in Electrical and Instrumentation

Carrying out Routine Surveillance & Quality Control Inspection of Construction Activities at various Inspection Stages like Pre-Installation, Installation & Pre-Commissioning & Final Inspection for various electrical and instrument equipments.

Conducting inspection for the installation and testing of:

o HV/MV/LV Transformers (Oil Testing, IR, Polarization, Ratio & Vector Grouping) and HV/MV/LV & Control Cables (Glanding, termination, Continuity, IR & Hi-pot Testing).

o Small Power Distribution Board, HV/MV/LV Switch Gears (66KV,33KV,6.6KV,415V) - Torquing, Ductor Testing, IR, Hi-pot of its Bus Bar, CT/VT & Relay Testing, Circuit Breaker (Rack in-Rack out, Ductor & Hi-pot Testing in close and open position), Bus Duct (Torquing, Ductor, IR & Hi-pot Testing).

o Earthing System (Earth Rod Resistance Test-Individual & Network), UPS System (Charging and Discharging Test of its Battery Bank), Lighting System (Illumination Test), Heat Tracing system, Communication System (CCTV & PAGA), Fire & Gas and HVAC System.

o Fibre Optic Cable (OTDR, Splicing) and Electrical Motor (IR, Winding Resistance & Solo Run Test).

o Process Field Instruments (Calibration, Leak Test of the Impulse Line & Loop Checking).

Examining instrument installation and termination in the field and panel sides and accountable for the closing of ITR for handover to client.

Sorting and clearing out all the technical issues and punch list as well as coordinating with Certification Department.

Liaising with vendors and other clients and company personnel to solve non-compliance related to instrumentation and electrical components and any required corrective actions.

Reviewing Quality Control Procedures, Inspection Test Plan, Method Statements, Drawings & Vendor Data Sheets and Material Approval Request as well as Calibration Report for test equipments.

Observing and confirming installation of instrumentation and electrical equipments and components is in accordance with client and company requirements and specifications and industry standards.

Project Accountabilities

Looked after the daily site observation of electrical and instrument works which were in progress & checked if construction was working according to client’s specification (IEC, NEC and BS standards), details, drawings and project’s quality plan.

Performed inspection of materials to make sure it meets the requirements of project specifications.

Maintained all test documents for internal quality audits.

Coordinated with certification group to fulfil the requirements of system/subsystem turn over.

Attended system turn over walk down and initiated punch list to achieve mechanical completion.
