Administrative Assistant for Materials Research Laboratory: Provide backup administrative support to the
Materials Research Laboratory. Help coordinate and structure research proposals from initial work request to final
submission, working with technical, business, contracts, and editorial staff to ensure all necessary requirements are
met and proposals are submitted on time.
2003 – 2009: SRI International, Menlo Park, CA
Administrative Coordinator for Microsystems Innovation Center: Provided full administrative support to 16 people.
Coordinate travel requests, recordkeeping, arranging for office moves, etc., Coordinated and structured research
proposals.
1999 – 2002: Facilichem Inc., Menlo Park, CA
Office Manager: Ran the office of a startup company, including hiring, filing, ordering supplies. Responsible for
payroll and handling accounts. Ensured that the company, funded by a government grant, complied with all
governments rules and regulations, including an audit of our accounting system. Took notes at board of directors
meetings.
1987 – 1999: SRI International, Menlo Park, CA
Administrative Assistant for Materials Research Group: Responsible for word processing of proposals, reports,
papers and correspondence for a group of approximately 25 people. Kept records, screened phone calls, and took
messages. Interacted with business office, editor, and contracts office to obtain approval for proposals and reports.
1984 – 1986: – Bendix Corporation, North Manchester, IN
Purchasing/Personnel Assistant: Provided support for the purchasing manager and personnel manager. Helped
keep track of inventory and ordered supplies. Reconciled AMEX billing and statements. Monitored past-due
invoices. Assisted the personnel manager with human resources issues.
