General Manager

• Reporting directly to the CEO/President of the company, responsible for managing all aspects

of operations for a 100,000 SF distribution center with a 100 person staff and a

$20,000,000.00 annual budget.

• Processed 3 million units annually (both inbound and outbound combined), while managing

100, 000 SKUs to supply appropriate products to over 4000 customers/locations during peak

times.

• Worked with software developer on our Inventory management system (TRIAD) to implement

bar coding & zone picking and cycle counting within the warehouse of over 389K items.

Redesigned the layout of warehouse floor for more efficiency in zone picking and product

movement.

• Developed operating budget for Distribution Center based on detailed forecasts and managed

the center to operate effectively and within the operating budget agreed upon by the

CEO/President.

• Successfully built and programmed a MS Access database to measure overall results in Picker

stats, receiving stats, put away stats and return stats, fuel costs, and sales analysis.

• Reduced Distribution Center expenses by more than $1 million annually, which resulted in a

28% reduction over a 2 year period, while maintaining productivity levels, service quality and

inventory accuracy.

• Designed an employee productivity improvement incentive program that resulted in a

26% increase in productivity in a 2 year period.

• Developed a seasonal staffing program that eliminated the need for temporary labor with

an annual savings of $525,000.00

• Implemented the internship program working with local colleges to bring interns onboard

for college credits to assist in warehouse operations and efficiencies.

• Led a cross functional team integrating the distribution system software with a new MS

Access database I developed.

• Redesigned receiving and picking operations to incorporate an automated system,

completing the project before schedule and under budget.

2005 – 2008 Avaya Inc.( National Staging Center ) Southaven, MS

Operations Manager/Production Manager – Staging Services

• Successfully led a six month trial to conduct Assemble, Load, and Test activities from the

Staging Center as a means of reducing the cost of on-site installations of Converged IP

Telephony solutions. Average cost savings for each of the 500 projects was $1,400 with an

overall cost savings of $700,000. This cost savings solidified the business case for the

National Staging Center which led to a quick approval by the executive committee. Projected

cost savings for one year of operation of the National Staging Center exceeded $5 million.

• Managed $200,000 project to relocate $2.5 million worth of I/T equipment from Japan to the

U.S. in support of the Women’s World Cup 2003 event. Lead a team of 15 to relocate,

configure, and make ready for on-site installation.

• Spent six weeks in Japan in support of the Men’s World Cup in 2002 and with feedback from

the lead Avaya engineers, helped set up a daily meeting of all internal and external technical

leads to coordinate the round the clock changes to the converged network as it was still being

installed. This allowed all members of the team to understand what was being done to the

network and reduced troubleshooting time by ninety percent when an outage occurred.

• Responsible for operations in the Southeast field services organization.
