Planning: Setting up consumption standards, procurement specifications,

forecasting and calculation of requirements, scheduling.

Inventory Control : Classification and selective control system; analysis of

lead times, rejection rates, consumption, costs etc. determine safety stock

levels; maintaining stock records, monitoring receipts and issues; Shortage

forecasting and triggering for corrective action.

Drive liquidation of FG inventory from the surplus stocks available; Execute

inter unit transfer of RMs to minimize slow moving inventory and avoid fresh

purchase; Replenish RMs not approved by quality or performance failed

materials; Monitor OOS batches and formulate the salvage plan for slow moving

materials and drive the same

Sourcing: Locating and development of sources of supply, vendor evaluation
