• Selected for special skill and ability as a member of mentoring team.

• Instructed and interpreted for various training events: patrolling, offensive operations, MOUT operations,

and immediate action drills.

June – December 2009

INTERPRETER/INSTRUCTOR, BRITISH ROYAL MARINES (Kabul City)

• Served as interpreter for Afghan National Army (ANA) Officer Candidate's School, training officers.

• Translated for battalion level staff and training meetings weekly.

• Worked in classroom and in the field training to train future officers.

• Instructed and interpreted for multiple training events: offensive and defensive operations, patrolling,

marksmanship, immediate actions drills for IED and ambush, leadership and command development.

• Screened Afghan Officer Candidates for attendance at international military schools.

• Acted as primary interpreter for District Commander in all high level meetings and tribal shuras.

• Translated for meetings with District Governor and Senior Tribal Elders responsible for district of 40,000.

• Advised Marine Commander on district level political, tribal, and economic matters.

• Worked as squad level interpreter for over 300 combat patrols.

• Served as interpreter for Afghan National Police training and mentoring.

• Advised Marine Commander in mentoring Afghan Police Commander.

May 2008 – November 2008

CAT 1 INTERPRETER with 2D BATTALION, 7TH MARINES (Farah Province)

• Acted as primary interpreter for Marine Commander in all district level meetings and tribal shuras.

• Translated for over 100 shuras with District Governor and Marine Commander.

• Advised Marine Commanders at Platoon, Company, and Battalion levels on local tribal considerations and

helped shape decisive campaign plan to influence battle space of 800 sq. km. and 40,000 people.

• Conducted interrogations and interviews with many human intelligence sources.

• Worked as squad level interpreter for over 450 combat patrols.

• Served as interpreter for Afghan National Police training and mentoring.

• Advised Marine Commander on mentorship and development of Afghan Police Commander.

• Served as radio operator between US Marines and Afghan National Police in training, combat operations,

and in contact with enemy forces.

• Fought with US Marines in two sustained engagements.

• Issued personal weapon and trusted to conduct combat operations with US Marines.
