Charleston Marine Container, Inc., Charleston, SC November 2011 - Present

Program Manager Operational focal point within company management team as

direct representative of customers' interests for program performance

metrics - cost, quality, and delivery. Coordination of all contracting,

engineering and production resources for production of highly engineered

metal fabrications.

SCRA Applied R&D (ATI), Charleston, SC March 2008 - November 2011

R&D Program Manager P&L Responsible (contract value). Program manager

for $11M / 4 year DoD funded program, American Metalcasting Consortium,

simultaneously leading 11 research projects investigating, developing, and

commercializing opportunities for new metals-related technologies developed

by university and industry partners to serve the needs of the Department of

Defense and the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) to improve the readiness of

legacy weapon systems through supply chain building, manufacturing process

improvements, and advanced materials technology. Program results were

savings to the government over $100M. Program was awarded #1 DLA

Director's Choice Award, 2010.

SpanTech LLC, Glasgow, KY December 2004 - March 2008

Director of Operations / Plant Manager, P&L responsible. Managed all

aspects of operations in a complex high-mix low-volume manufacturing

environment and assembly facility of employees and 7 supervisors,

including enterprise asset management and capacity planning, engineering,

safety, quality, manufacturing engineering, workforce training, and

performance improvement. Introduced standardization, Lean Manufacturing

methodologies and practices, a real 5S program, cross-training of workforce

to improve flexibility and efficiency, and demand forecast planning in a

company that had never implemented these programs before. Reduced

manufacturing labor costs and variability from 12-20 % to 8-10 % of sales.

Reduced standard deviation of predicted delivery time to less than 20% of

predicted time for jobs under $300K. Reduced custom-designed parts count

from 40% of product to less than 10%. Reduced critical path of order

fulfillment 60%, from 15 days per $100K to less than 6 days.

Trace Die Cast, Inc., Bowling Green, KY December 1998 - December

2004

Plant Manager, 2002 - 2004 Managed start-up of aluminum machining facility

zero to 85 employees and $11 million annual revenue. Operational and

stable processes within 4 months. Planned, installed, commissioned, and

qualified new capital equipment and infrastructure, implemented robust and

disciplined manufacturing processes, and established and monitored key goal-

oriented metrics understood by all employees. Responsibilities included

production, quality, manufacturing engineering, shipping / receiving, and

maintenance.

Quality Manager, Die Cast Plant, 1998 - 2001 Continuous improvement while

managing quality program for aluminum die cast facility serving the

automotive industry. Management representative internally and externally

for product quality planning (APQP) and production process validation

(PPAP), and all quality customer communications. Managed metrology lab and

trained and supervised 14 auditors and technicians. Company team leader

for successful improvement of quality systems within QS-9000 and ISO-9000.

Ryder Integrated Logistics, Knoxville, TN March 1998 - November 1998

Logistics Manager Responsible for transportation of boats to dealerships

across the US with a team of 32 trucks and 35 drivers as the leader of the

outsourced logistics department of Sea-Ray Boats, Inc. Managed load

assignment, payroll, trip settlement, and maintenance of equipment.

Representative to Sea-Ray's managers for all issues relating to customer

logistics.
