Academic project:( From September, 2012 to June, 2013)
Project Title: Designed analysis of AM transmitter and superhetrodyne AM
Receiver.
Abstract :- Modulation is a technique in which the characteristics of a high frequency wave are
varied in accordance with the modulating signal. If the amplitude of the high frequency carrier is
changed with that of modulating signal, we get amplitude modulation.
In electronics, a superheterodyne receiver (sometimes shortened to superhet) uses frequency
mixing or heterodyning to convert a received signal to a fixed intermediate frequency (IF), which
can be more conveniently processed than the original radio carrier frequency. Generally all
modern radio and television receivers use the superheterodyne principle.
Here in this project we have designed the AM transmitter and a superheterodyne receiver,
ananalysed the characteristics of the receiver.

Paper Title: “Performance Analysis of Discrete Time Steady-State
Kalman Estimator for Linear Dynamic Systems”,
(Selected at National Conference on Instrumentation
and Control NATCONIC-2013 byTrishul Chowdhury
and Moloy Kumar Chowdhury)
Abstract:
Abstract:
Abstract The Kalman filter, more formally known as Linear Quadratic
Estimation (LQE), is a set of mathematical equations that
provides an efficient computational (recursive) means to
estimate the state of a process, observed over time and
containing noise and other inaccuracies, in a way that
minimizes the mean of the squared error. The filter is very
powerful in several aspects: it supports estimations of past,
present, and even future states, and it can do so even when
the precise nature of the modelled system is unknown.
Herein, this paper presents a practical introduction to the
discrete-time steady-state Kalman filter for estimation of a
linear dynamic system and various parameters associated
with the Kalman filter are computed based on a tangible
example with real numbers and results using inputs such as
filter gains, and noise variance matrices.
