Summary:
Degreed project engineer with extensive experience managing software upgrade and aerospace
analysis projects, PMI certified Project Management Professional (PMP) . Proficient in software
development, implementation and validation of high fidelity simulations. Successfully achieved
positions of higher responsibility including Department Project Manager, Technical Lead Engineer and
Principal Function Manager for Deorbit guidance. Self-starter who enjoys challenges and overcoming
obstacles and can work with a variety of customers.
Skills:
Project Management: 12 years with Earned Value, schedule, requirements and task management
Technical Writer
Validation & verification of high fidelity simulation software
Computer Languages: FORTRAN, C and python
Applications: Microsoft Office, Microsoft project, Primavera P6
Work Experience:
United Space Alliance: Houston, TX 1991 - Aug 2011
Space Shuttle Descent Design: Project Manager / Engineer 5
• Project Lead: Communicated the need to upgrade the high fidelity simulator to current models and software
language. Managed (direct and indirect) a team of 10 to define requirements, develop scope and schedule,
monitor and control the implementation of the tool and verify the results with a budget of 850K dollars. New
program was acknowledged as prime verification tool for the Space Shuttle.
• Project Manager: Communicated the advantage of improving the high fidelity Monte Carlo statistical program.
Directly managed a team of 4 to define requirements, develop scope and schedule, monitor and control the
implementation of the tool and verify the results. Project affected 5 departments with a budget of 300K. Allowed
thousands of simulations to be analyzed instead of 100. Wrote the Validation Test Document, Requirements
Document and Detailed Specification Document.
• Project Manager: Communicated the need to improve the atmosphere model. Managed team of 4 with a 200K
budget to define requirements, develop scope and schedule, monitor and control the implementation of the tool
and verify the results. Ensured Space Shuttle operating limits were calculated with best data. Wrote all program
documents.
• Project Lead: Managed the on-time development, implementation and verification of 25 updates to the high
fidelity simulation. Wrote 25 Validation Test Documents.
Process Integration: Reduced user verification process by one month.
o
Team Integration: Integrated software development with user requirements to reduce errors.

• Project Manager: Communicated the need to incorporate a statistical analysis tool (Monte Carlo program)
into the department's high fidelity simulation. Managed a team of 4 to define requirements, develop scope and
schedule, monitor and control the implementation of the tool and verify the results. Program was used to ensure
the Space Shuttle operated within safe boundaries.
• Principal Function Manager: Reviewed changes for Deorbit onboard guidance and displays
• Subject Matter Expert: Deorbit guidance and analysis, Monte Carlo simulation, Atmosphere models
• Flight Controller for 23 Space Shuttle Missions
