Senior Imaging Technologist/Supervisor in Ultrasound

Bermuda Hospitals Board-King Edward VII Memorial Hospital, (KEMH) Paget Bermuda (June 2008-present)

Performs Vascular and other Ultrasound examinations during regular workdays and on an on-call basis. Exams performed include: abdomen, ob/gyn, breast, thyroid, prostate, testicles, neonatal brain, infant hips, muscular-skeletal studies, venous, arterial and fistula/graft assessment. I assisted with amniocentesis, hysterosonograms, biopsies, fine-needle aspirations.

Provide guidance, advice, quality assurance tests and assistance to staff Sonographers regarding certain Ultrasound studies.

Supervise Ultrasound activities at KEMH and at a satellite centre

Ensure staff performs in accordance with hospital and department’s standards and goals.

Organize department’s work-flow and activities including regular in-service training.

Prepare reports on department’s monthly activity, budget variance, staff productivity, patient scheduling and others

Manage stock inventory and order supplies

Interface extensively with department’s manager,

Radiologist, other medical and non-medical personnel

Perform administrative functions regarding staffing such as attendance, remunerations, evaluations; review, update and prepare ultrasound policies and scanning protocols; attend meetings and participate in various other administrative exercises.

Working extensively in systems such as PACS, EPSI, API, Sunquest, Achibus, Microsoft and on Ultrasound machines such as GE and Phillips

Achievement:

I provided leadership that fostered a strong team-spirit and commitment to department’s goals.

The department obtained accreditation in Breast Ultrasound and Ultrasound-Guided Breast Biopsy from the American College of Radiology (ACR) under my leadership.
