April 1996- January 2013

1998-2013 Started as 2nd Shift Paint Maintenance Group Leader and within 3 years was selected

to be the 1st Shift Maintenance Group Leader. Moved into other positions as listed below to round

out my experience and knowledge:

• Provided leadership to ensure the completion of scheduled work and projects and the

maintenance of equipment and the facility.

• Coordinated the efforts of 3 shift maintenance operations as the lead group leader to

ensure administrative continuity.

• Coordinated and expedited flow of materials, parts, and assemblies.

• Organized down time, weekend projects, and scheduled and managed overtime and

vacation coverage.

• Directed outside contractors.

• Provided insight into automation and control issues especially during model changes.

• Generated reports and updated records related to the product, process, quality, and

maintenance.

• Complied with safety, environmental ISO, and quality compliance standards.

• Served as the plant’s Maintenance Technical expert on Energy Projects.

• Reported to the Facility Manager.

1 year as the SIA TPM Group Leader:

• Trained incoming associates in TPM strategies.

• Held TPM improvement meetings with all Maintenance Group Leaders.

• Developed KPI’s for maintenance.

• Collected and integrated equipment performance data and reported to the Senior Manager

of Manufacturing.

• Coordinated Plant Kaizen contest and Japanese Institute of Planned Maintenance award

ceremony.

1 year as 3rd Shift Maintenance Group Leader of SIA Trim and Final Assembly at SIA. Leadership

responsibilities were similar to Paint Facility position and:

• Led efforts to improve PM of Trim and Final Assembly equipment.

• Directly supervised 1 Team Leader and 5 maintenance associates.

• Performed and reviewed others root cause analysis for counter measure implementation

and followed up on all issues.

1 year as Maintenance Group Leader for SIA Engine Assembly. Leadership responsibilities were

similar to Paint Facility position and:

• Responsible for maintenance and repairs to an automated engine assembly line and an

engine head machining line.

• Led 2 Team Leaders and 10 associates

Moved back to Paint Facility as 1st shift Maintenance Group Leader when SIA was contracted by

Toyota to build the Toyota Camry:

• Ensured major facility changes were integrated into the existing PM system.

• Selected parts to support maintenance efforts for the new equipment. Most of this

equipment was new technology (cartridge type paint application).

• Was instrumental in the successful ISO 50,001 (Energy Management System) audit,

making SIA the first North American auto manufacturing plant to receive ISO 50,001

certification.

1996-1998 Paint Maintenance Associate – multi-skilled maintenance: Primary responsibility for

performing preventative maintenance, repair and services on all facility equipment (pumps,

motors, robots, vision systems, conveyor systems, motion control, process control PLC’s, boilers,

ovens, and incinerators).

1995-1996 Automation Maintenance Tech / Wabash National Corporation

WNC Facility – makers of multi-modal trailers

• Assisted installing equipment to make refrigeration trailers during the conversion of

a General Mills plant to Wabash Nationals South plant.

1974- 1995 UNITED STATES MARINE CORPS – Private through E-8 Master Sergeant. Retired

after 21 years in Data Communications Maintenance.
