ROLE : Senior Data Architect cum Oracle Consultant
Description: Johnson & Johnson has more than 250 companies located in 57
countries around the world. Their Family of Companies is organized into
several business segments comprised of franchises and therapeutic
categories. Basically J&J has 3 categories which are 1) Consumer segment 2)
Medical Devices and Diagnostics segment 3) Pharmaceuticals
I am working as Oracle consultant / Data Architect on the below modules :-
1) CompNAV & MyCompNav: - This is a worldwide decision support tool
designed to assist Line Managers and Human Resource staff with compensation
planning. In particular, this includes support for the year-end
compensation planning cycle. The cycle formally begins in November and
finishes in February with the issuance of bonuses and other forms of year-
end compensation. However, a great deal of work is done in CompNAV before
and after the planning cycle dates. CompNAV expedites the planning process
by significantly reducing paperwork, providing Line Managers with
sufficient information to make good compensation decisions and facilitating
rapid review and approval. CompNAV accesses information from a real-time,
common database. There is no importing and exporting of data and no data
files to send to supervisors or HR/Compensation departments. For US
operations, employee data remains "current" during the planning process and
is updated for new hires and terminations.
Responsibilities:- My responsibilities for this module includes :-
. To grant role permission to users, batch jobs and elements on admin,
planning and report modules
. To perform daily code and database migration on CompNAV and MyCompNav
. To support the daily tickets raised by client for the changes required
and apprise them of status.
. Assist with the transition of currently running applications to the
new technologies
. Review, recommend and assist with the implementation of systems
monitoring and capacity planning
. Provides the means of system integration by understanding the source
and target data and build the data mapping.
. High-level data architecture documentation, which illustrates the
source and destination
of data to and/or from approved data sources
. Development of a data strategy and design specifications
2) gXRS :- gXRS is a Global Expense Reporting System (gXRS). In this system
the files are generated as per layout specifications and loaded into the
gXRS database using a gXRS process that pulls a particular folder in the
server for presence of the files during daily processing. As soon as the
gXRS process finds these files they are processed and loaded or rejected
depending on the validity of the files.
Responsibilities:- My responsibilities for this module includes :-
. To check daily load of the data loaded on daily basis
. To update daily users of the progress and status of daily data load
. To support the daily tickets raised by client for the changes required
and apprise them of status.
