Project Description - The BizTalk artifacts which were already
implemented and deployed into production environment were to be supported

3. JFLA - Supply Chain Integration May 2009 - Oct 2010
Language and Technologies involved - Microsoft BizTalk Server 2009, MS
SQL Server, xCBL 3.5
Number of team members: 2
Operating Systems - Windows Server 2003
Project Description - This is totally integrated solution between
lubricant supplier BP and its buyer JFLA. There is integration for
purchase order, change order and invoices. When an electronic Purchase
Order is sent from JFLA, it will be received and processed by BP
immediately. The BP middleware, Enabler, will hold the PO and check
availability of the product within JD Edwards and then the middleware
will generate a POA based on the results from JD Edwards. BP will either
'Accept', 'AcceptWithChange' or 'Reject' purchase orders based on various
business rules. Accepted orders will be immediately returned to Defence
and loaded into JFLA DB, while 'AcceptWithChange' or 'Rejected' orders
will trigger an email notification sent to the purchasing officer as well
as loading into JFLA DB. BP will always provide an explanation in the POA
comments field for 'AcceptWithChange' or 'Rejected' statuses which will
appear on the email notification sent to the purchasing officer. POC
messages will also be integrated to the BP middleware and not sent via
email for processing and therefore JFLA must flag all amended orders to
be sent to BP following an 'AcceptWithChange' or 'Rejected' status. BP
will not process amendments without being flagged by Defence or are not
in response to a POA 'AcceptWithChange' or 'Rejected' status as they are
seen as duplicates by BP. BP will response to the POC by sending another
POA with either an 'Accept', 'AcceptWithChange' or 'Reject' status. The
BP Invoice is triggered once the shipment is confirmed within JD Edwards.
BP will generate and send electronic invoice on the same day to JFLA
containing all the required Defence data. An email notification will be
sent immediately to the purchasing officer indicating that an Invoice is
to be loaded for a related PO. An over night batch job will load the
invoice into JFLA DB and match it to the Purchase Order which will then
await the receipt of goods before being triggered for payment.
Roles and Responsibilities -
. BizTalk solution design and development.
. Designed SQL objects like tables, stored procedures, views and
triggers.
. BizTalk feasibility study.
. Led a team.

The integration services they wanted were very demanding and complex as

were to create database for the web portal (Brakes - CRM) which helps
them to get more out of their customers. The sales managers were the
users who can track their customer's spend over the period of time and
also manage their accounts through the portal. Different CSV files were
to be received daily, processing those files using integration service
and then send an outbound CSV files. We used SQL 2008 database for web
portal and used SQL 2008 integration services as integration service
provider.

. Database design and development.
. Designed SQL objects like tables, stored procedures, views and
triggers.
. SSIS implementation for integrating different types of data flows

Language and Technologies involved - Microsoft BizTalk Server 2006, MSSQL
Server 2000, .net 2.0
Operating Systems - Windows Server 2003
Number of team members: 3
Project Description - The Conexa Solution is a fully integrated modular
suite of software, specializing in the provision of procurement services
through a number of web based and client based applications, working in
unison to provide a complete end-to-end business procurement solution. As
a solution provider, Conexa incorporates a number of technologies and
systems that cater for the procurement business requirements of both
buyers and suppliers. As Part of an integration project between ERP /
FMIS systems, and online e-procurement B2B or B2C solutions, the need to
securely exchange documents between the different systems becomes
imperative. In e-procurement architecture the online component may be
physically detached from the internal networks where the ERP resides.
This requires the introduction of a data exchange layer capable of
securely and reliably exchanging large amounts of data across the public
network, and have the capacity to exchange data with the internal
databases on the network. The proposition of enabling hosted solutions to
interact with internal ERP systems implies the requirement for data
exchange. This data is necessary to keep both systems up to date on
activities and transactions they handle, in addition to the exchange of
static data. Apart from integrating with internal ERP system there is a
requirement to integrate with trading partners to provide upto date
supply chain management in B2B application. To meet the automation
demands they have integrated their information systems and applications
with those of their suppliers, partners and customers reliably, securely,
and in real time. The system offers around 1 million products to choose
from and it is capable enough to handle 1500 end to end transactions per
day including time for user delay, the theoretical limit is 1000
transactions per minute.
Some salient project statistics:
. Product base of 1 million products
. Peak loads of 300,000 product updates (upon major price updates)
. Integrations through RosettaNet, EDI, XML, SQL and CSV formats
