PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

JISCC Team Leader - Massachusetts Army National Guard 1 March 2012- 30 Sept 2012

The Joint Incident Site Communications Capability (JISCC) team integrates with other organizations in highly fluid high pressure

scenarios involving FEMA as well as various state and local emergency agencies to provide communications at a disaster area

site. The system incorporates satellite access, military and local radio capabilities as well as Internet access in addition to

standard telephony and VoIP provisioning. In short: relief teams can communicate with each other. Civilians can phone home.

• Responded to and provided communications at many disaster sites to include blizzard and tornado responses across

Massachusetts. Established travelling communications for responders in New York City for relief of Hurricane Sandy.

• Train and coordinate a team of 15+ military personnel with diverse skill sets to maintain and operate a mobile network

communications system for disaster sites.

• Manage the interactions and relationships with multiple emergency management agencies including FEMA, local fire,

police, medical, aid relief agencies as well as local governments.

• Led the team to the country’s first successful field testing of a JISCC system in a series of nationwide readiness

assessments.

• Maintained oversight, readiness and deployment of over $750,000 worth of network equipment with zero dollar loss.

Readiness NCO - Massachusetts Army National Guard 1 Oct 2010- 29 Feb 2012

• Assumed management and control of a 50+ member business unit’s (company) home station and troops for the duration

of an overseas deployment to Afghanistan.

• On boarded 15+ new soldiers to the unit; transitioning them into military life, training and day to day readiness while

helping them to not only understand what it means to be a soldier, but how also to live to that standard daily.

• Planned and executed both monthly and longer-term annual training and readiness plans.

• Directly oversaw 30 soldiers’ training and development with over half of those soldiers receiving awards for their

accomplishments during that period.

• Managed all stateside logistics to include travel, inventory and family readiness communication chains for the departure

and return of the main company body.

• Maintained direct control and responsibility for $7,000,000 of equipment and its maintenance.

Training Assistant (PTAE) - Massachusetts Army National Guard 2 Aug 2009- 30 Sept 2010

• Implemented and executed training and qualification sessions for National Guard units throughout the Commonwealth

of Massachusetts over a multi-year period.

• Responsible for successful qualification, training and retraining of over 300 soldiers in support of Operation Iraqi

Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.

• Maintained a statewide qualification program – integrating with individual units and state command staff to ensure that

the achieved standards allowed seamless transitions for units preparing for deployment.

Recruiting and Retention NCO - Massachusetts Army National Guard 2 May 2006- 1 Aug 2009

• Lived and displayed the Army Standard for soldiers while bringing potential recruits through the steps necessary to join

the military and serve their country.

• Over the course of 3 years provided consistent guidance and counsel, assisted 45+ qualified and able citizens in

successfully shipping to Basic Training and subsequently joining their units to become soldiers.

• Conducted direct mail campaigns, developed statewide marketing plans while managing the advertising budget and

meeting regulatory compliance standards for the advertising.

Motor Sergeant - Massachusetts Army National Guard 10 Oct 2004-11 Jan 2006
