CULTURAL QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

Being a native speaker of the language has allowed me to carefully

integrate the teaching of culture in my foreign language instruction

classroom. Since its carefully incorporated into my lesson plans, helps

enrich and inform the teaching content of the foreign language, Spanish, in

my case. By incorporating authentic sources that suits the age and language

proficiency level from the native community, it helps to engage students in

authentic cultural experiences. Some of my cultural activities include

integrating role-plays to establish the culturally appropriate form of

addressing it. Cultural contextualization by introducing objects that

belong to the particular culture is an effective way to enable students to

function effectively in another language and society. My extensive

experience has taught me that students are successful in speaking a second

language only if cultural issues occupy an inherent part of the curriculum.
