WORK EXPERIENCE
I started working in 2006 as a leaner fire fighter at City of Johannesburg fire department. My
duties was involved the following: treating patients and transporting to hospitals, receiving calls
at watch room and attending information to public, responds to fire calls and other emergency
calls.
CURRENT WORK
On the 14 April 2008 I started working at City of Johannesburg Municipality as a Fire fighter
EMT, My duties and responsibility involved the following: Fighting fires at buildings and
bushes Responding to accidents where I rescue and extricates entrapments victims, I conduct
fire presentation and awareness programs to public, I conduct fire inspecting in buildings,
warehouse, and filling stations to ensure that fire fighting equipment comply with South African
building standard Act 1186 and South African National Standard(SANS) ACT, Doing daily
inspection to ensure that they comply with legislative requirements for occupational safety
regulation, limit fire spread, adequate ventilation, means scape, safety signs and safe operations
and maintenance. Assessing the building in terms of storage and transporting flammable goods,
to ensure that they have clearance certificate and comply with standard 10400. Assessing
building and ensuring that requirements for stability, ease of evacuate to assembly point,
smoke control, accessibility and availability fire fighting equipment’s and fire spread, building
standard Act 103of 1977 as well city’s by laws.
