Engineering / Maintenance Manager
Managed a staff of 6 Engineers and Maintenance Leaders that support 25
maintenance employee's with a 5M operating budget, working in union
environment. Led large capital improvement and machinery relocation
projects. Installed retro fits and led process improvement teams with
dramatic results.
. Reduced plant reported maintenance down time from 6% to 2.5% by
installing MP2 Maintenance software with a bar coded inventory in
Storeroom, coupled with a Plant wide PM program. Implemented
predictive maintenance tools like: thermal imaging, oil analysis,
vibration analysis, dynamic balancing, ultrasonic leak detection, and
optical alignment.
. Implemented EHS programs that helped reduced our TIRR rate from 6 to
below 2.
. Reduced waste from 8% to 6% on our Cast Extrusion lines, by working on
a Black Belt Team that identified reoccurring problems. Developed
innovative solutions to correct issues.
. Reduced wrinkles and defects in blown film lines resulting in $800,000
savings per year by optically aligning all of our Blown Film lines.
. Installed new seven layer W&H Blown Film Line with rapid die changing
capability which allowed us to change a die in 8 hours, vs. 32 hours
which resulted in a savings of $15,000 every time we changed a die.
. Managed a $16M fast track equipment move project that included
extensive building modifications and infrastructure improvements,
which was completed on time and on budget with no loss of customers
and added $60M in new business to the plant.
Presto/Alcoa, Weyauwega, WI 2001 - 2004
Engineering Manager

maintenance employees with a 3M operating budget, working in a nonunion
environment. Led efforts to lower production costs and improve operating
efficiency.
. Designed, developed and installed a carton sorting and packaging line
capable of sorting 60 cartons per minute into 22 separate carton
lanes. This resulted in a work force reduction of 12 people.
. Reorganized the Maintenance Department into an equipment development
team, day shift support team, and a PM team coupled with Production
works using TPM principles.
. Developed an automated 4 lane bag machines that doubled the output of
a semiautomatic bag machine from 30 bags per min. to 60.
Cook Composites and Polymers, Saukville, WI 1997 - 2001

Managed capital improvements and expansion of plant capacity. Ensure
compliance with DNR and EPA regulations.
. Designed and installed a Thermo Oxidizer system connected to 63 tanks
and reactors to achieve the EPA/DNR compliance avoiding a plant shut
down.
. Expanded plants raw material capacity with 12 - 15,000 gal. chemical
storage tanks, all inter connected to the plants five main reactors
with a mass flow metering distribution system.
. Modernized the plant's five reactor control systems and brought them
up to NFPA and FM code compliance.
