Provide advanced consultative and support services in development, implementation, evaluation, and

execution of the inventory management systems, and collaborate with DSHS medication programs on

system functionality and inventory system processes. Provide methods to assess the need for increased

planning and educational efforts related to inventory control. Review and evaluate information on the

inventory system in order to identify gaps in resources and recommend improvements. Prepare detailed

Work with program staff in determining trends and resolving technical problems. Assist with test protocol

assisting in the implementation of procedural or policy changes for inventory management and measure

progress towards achieving objectives. Develop policy and procedure manuals for the inventory

management system.

Serve as liaison between Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Texas Vaccines For

Children program (TVFC): technical assistant to DSHS Regions, LHDs, and private and public providers

on various program services. Represent TVFC as lead consultant to the CDC regarding database

management of Vaccine Management System. Conduct daily operations in the DSHS Inventory Tracking

Electronic Asset Management System (ITEAMS) including inventory management and order

management. Work directly with CDC development staff to resolve system issues as TVFC’s primary

CDC coordinator to monitor and resolve customer service and distribution issues. Approve all emergency

orders and serve as the back up for emergency order entry into PICS (DSHS Pharmacy). Disseminate

development and implementation of the TVFC website, including forms, memos, and TVFC updates.

Compile data, develop reports and provide internal quality assurance as required by the Immunization

branch and CDC. Compose technical reports for stakeholders, state and federal agencies and the Texas

Legislature. Coordinate, direct, and implement vaccine ordering activities, including tracking and

reconciling daily vaccine allocations. Analyze recruitment and enrollment data to generate market

saturation reports of physician participation in the TVFC for targeted specialties to update the TVFC

recruitment tracking system. Manage annual Influenza ordering and distribution, including H1N1 ordering

and distribution. Serve as the Inventory Control Specialist in the DSHS MACC for the Strategic National

Stockpile Branch and as the Texas Inventory Management Systems specialist.
