Retail Representative/Meat & All Perishable/ Publix Team
Acosta Sales & Marketing, Inc. - Broker Tampa, FL
Level - Senior Unit Manager/Fresh Team/Publix - Acosta
As a Senior Unit Manager, I supervise the Retail / Merchandising Fresh Team
in the Lakeland Division, which consists of 275 Publix Stores, 63 Winn
Dixie Stores, and 10 Albertsons Stores. In special projects I have been in
charge of the Miami, Lakeland, Jacksonville and Atlanta Divisions. I have
helped Business Managers and Category Managers increase their business to
the level that it is today. I have also worked with the Marketing
Department in developing
Plan-O- Grams and translating the Miami division store ads and pamphlets
from English to Spanish to better reach the Latin community; I have also
worked with new and existing clients, explaining the parameters and
expectations of the Retail business with Publix.
I love the Retail business; I enjoy meeting and helping people,
establishing Relationships in all levels of business. I have found this to
be the #1 ingredient in this industry and it has been a huge success in
business growth with endless potential.
Level - Unit Manager/Meat & Perishables Publix Team/WD - Acosta Tampa
As a unit Manager I developed the Publix Team to another level, because of
my knowledge and Relationship with Publix, I was elected to start the
"Fresh Team" in Lakeland division. A year later, we expanded to Miami and
Jacksonville division, due to the enormous growth in business the Fresh
team went National just three years after its inception. This was due to
the fact that I helped clients increase their business by selling more
product and increase distribution throughout our Division.
I started with myself and four RCM's and today, we have added eleven more
RCM, s due to the growth of all the lines that we represent.
Level - Territory Manager - Acosta Tampa
As a Retail Sales Representative my job was to maintain full distribution
of all our product lines and delete all the voids. This was to make sure
that all empty spaces were filled and all products that were out of stock
were properly ordered. In the process I assisted Managers in various
departments on how to maintain full distribution with my knowledge of
adjusting Plan-O-Grams. Throughout the years I have built great
relationships with these Managers which today are Category Managers,
Buyers, Retail Coordinators, District Managers and Supervisors.

U-Save Supermarkets Tampa, FL
I started working for U-Save Supermarkets as package personnel, one week
later, the Produce Manager asked me to work for him in his department. My
duties were to work with all the Items in the Produce Department, unload
trucks, rotating products and maintaining inventory. It was a huge
experience for me in the Produce field. Eventually I worked all departments
including Front Office Grocery.
Three Years later, once I turned 18 years old, the Meat Department Manager
said he had an opportunity for me to work full time as a meat cutter. My
duties were to unload trucks, I was trained as a meat cutter also, and I
was promoted to Assistant Meat Manager a year later.
One year later at the age of 20, I was promoted to Meat Department Manager.
As Meat Manager, my job was to cut meat, schedule meat cutters and
wrappers, lunch meat and cheese clerks, do ordering and keep up with profit
and loss. Every two weeks I did inventory of the whole department to
increase business. In the 15 years as Meat Manager, I trained and promoted
six of my nine assistant Meat Managers. After 20 years of working for U-
save Supermarket, I decided to accept an opportunity as a broker presented
to me by Acosta. This opportunity offered me the chance to expand my
knowledge of the grocery business to a higher level.
1999 -2007
PT 2nd Job - Retail Meat Cutter

sufficient quality, and serving customized orders to customers. I was also
responsible to keep the working areas clean, and ensure that proper
