on multi-million dollar, 15,000+ man-day projects involving congressional level objectives, multiple
technical workgroups, various service providers, and complex schedules at a 10,000 person shipyard.
Lean/Six-Sigma Green Belt: applied process improvement techniques to develop and implement a rapid
improvement event saving the Navy over $100,000.

• Leader for major ship repair, overhaul, and modernization projects. Integrated shipyard leadership,
project management team personnel, Sailors, contractors, and external oversight organizations.
• Received national recognition for project management at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, including
work as a Lean/6-Sigma Greenbelt resulting in a 50% time savings and over $100,000 cost savings
on the aircraft carrier propulsion plant test program.
• Received regional recognition twice for leadership contributions to ship overhaul projects: first for a
nine-week Frigate overhaul; and the second for assistance coordinating over $70 Million of repairs
over three months to restore an Aircraft Carrier after an extensive fire.
• Hand-picked by senior leadership to lead a diverse workforce to complete a challenging and complex
13-month overhaul project on a 30-year-old submarine tender.

Estates Policy Officer, International Security Assistance Force (ISAF), Afghanistan
June 2007 - December 2007
• Awarded the Defense Meritorious Service Medal for “obtaining critical land consignments for
the expanding infrastructure of coalition forces.” Personally negotiated with the Afghan Chief of
the Ministry of Defense Installations Division, resulting in the consignment of over 13.2 square
kilometers for the expansion of NATO bases in Afghanistan.
• Coordinated a unified estates policy approach among all coalition forces, empowering the Republic
of Afghanistan to take control of estates issues within the Ministry of Defense.
• Initiated an environmental program throughout ISAF to enforce NATO Environmental Protection
Policy. Environmental surveys under this program resulted in justification for three major
infrastructure improvements.

• Leader for high risk combat operations. Maintained platoon combat readiness to effectively shoot,
move, communicate, and care for wounds under extreme conditions.
• Completed Basic Underwater Demolition / SEAL (BUD/S) training and SEAL Qualification
